Great experience. Make sure you take the Yeoman/Beefeater tour and give this amazing site the time it deserves and allow three hours. Top drawer.

Great from the outside - few Londoners go inside as there are many greater marvels that are free. A must for tourists mind

Good for the whole family. Varied in presentation. A bit expensive and low on food offers. But overall we loved it.

Download the Tower of London Free app for a guide, as the voice guide costs £4 for adults. The Yeomen also do free guides, although limited. Use free wifi at the ticket booths or Costa's nearby.

ALL toilets in the area - from the nearest tube station (Tower Hill) - require 50 pence per entry! Even those inside eateries. Go to the loo BEFORE your visit!

At 90 meters The White Tower was the tallest building in Europe (in 1190). Now dwarfed by the horrible Shard of Glass on the other side of the river! Progress? You decide....
