2nd favorite NYC ramen spot. This place has better pork buns than Totto, but Totto's ramen is better. The spicy Tonkatsu ramen is pretty good; expect thin noodles.

Wasabi shoyu ramen is my fave! Be sure to get nitamago in it! (Also, mix well; the wasabi oil floats to the top.) definitely get the pork buns as well: best in the city!

Classic spot people go to to experience ramen in NYC. If the lineup is too much, the nearby Zundo-Ya has a solid Tonkotsu as well.

Auds BallOctober 11, 2011Akamaru Modern and Karaka Miso Ramen (Spicy) are BOTH delicious! The pork buns are tasty too. As for the wait to get in be prepared to wait an hour or more, maybe go to a bar near by in the mean time.

Their pork buns & the Akamaru Modern ramen are best two things you will ever eat. Ever. But only order what you can eat as you can't bring home leftovers.
So worth the wait! Akamaru modern and Hirata buns. If you find space in your tummy... Get shishito peppers. And end with annin tofu.
