- Lou C.September 28, 2013Very nice amenities at the Driskill hotel. Upgrade to a suite for added luxury!
- IFCMarch 7, 2013Is there a more Texan bar atmosphere? This is one of our top choices for post-show hangouts.
- Nelson Wells at Team ClermontMarch 19, 2011Here's a tip for the Driskill. Serve some decent top shelf in the venue. This JimBeam only crap only degrades your once impeccable name. If it is sponsorship then tell SXSW to kissyourass!
- JoVonna CarterMarch 11, 2012One of best places in downtown Austin for an amazing meal! Great piano bar as well!!
- Taylor MooreDecember 18, 2010You surprisingly can't hear 6th street inside! Magic! Order the Texas Pecan waffle for breakfast and eat it in the luxurious bed.
- Best secret Austin spot for live music. A-list musical talent, but cool conversational atmosphere.
- Frank LizzadroApril 12, 2012Like the hotel but should be warned about the view when booking, something like "Hey dummy be happy to get some sunlight."
- If you ever have luggage, jackets, or whatever - leave it with the valet and tip them nice. It's a good scene.
- Christina HoodSeptember 20, 2011Be sure to check out The Vault! It is the original door for the first bank in Austin.
- joyce oandasanApril 10, 2011awesome customer service, great hangover burger in 1886, and home of the best mixologist... abdul!
- Don't count on the Foursquare check-in special about a pineapple-jalapeño soda. They've been out of ingredients for it.
- manuelOctober 3, 2014Went straight to the gutter since it became a Hyatt. Corporate America says hello.
- Nikon USAMarch 12, 2011The Driskill Hotel is lit up lovely at night. Consider shooting during dusk, and use a tripod to shoot at slower shutter speeds to avoid camera shake and blurry pictures.
- Lindsey SnyderMarch 28, 2011Check-in time is at 4...room was ready at 4:45...we arrived at 3. Annoying. But it's beautiful and supposedly haunted (if you believe that crap).
- Hanna MaierFebruary 18, 2016We had our engagement there & loved it! Only sad part, I ask for a upgrade bc I choose their hotel but they didn't give me one :(
- Brett ElliottDecember 1, 2019This hotel is nice, but I’m not sure it’s worth what they charge for it. Especially when you factor in $45/day for parking.
- Try the batini in the Driskill bar. It's the official drink of Austin and amazing!!
- the little seats near the elevators next to the bar is a nice place to sneak away from the crowds. "elevator alley", i call it.
- jean-yves couputNovember 16, 2010Great place, Victorian style... Only issue is that I don't know how to switch off the supposedly relaxing "frog noise" of the alarm clock
- Vincent BeeseFebruary 11, 2010you must try the breakfast burrito at the Driskill hotel, it is kick @ss. you can skip lunch if you can eat the entire thing.
- Ask for a room in the tower. The rooms in the original hotel are tiny.
- Find the room Ross is staying in, there's bound to be something fun going on
- driskill during sxsw is a quiet civilized stop to meet friends, have a drink, hold a work conf call, charge ur phone & go to the bathroom.
