- I liked the special with corned beef hash and pancakes and hash Browns. And the coffee is piping hot and hits the spotUpvoted 2 weeks ago
- Aigerim NAugust 17, 2014The breakfast food is out of this world delicious! Get here earlier (around 7:30) to avoid waiting in line. Get the Salmon Benedict, the Strawberry Waffle, the Swedish pancakes, or the classic ones.Upvoted Mar 3
- Anton ShusterJanuary 29, 2015Get the Swedish pancakes. Sears has been turning out delicious ones since 1938. You get 18 in an order, complete with warm maple syrup and soft butter. This is an iconic SF dish.
- Jared LeBlancAugust 11, 2013Pancakes A+. The corned beef hash really is great! It's shredded. And the poster referenced elsewhere that has the N-word is a Norman Rockwell Civil Rights poster. Nothing derogatory. I'm black, btw.
- The Corned Beef hash was spectacular - worth the wait and great service too.
- LeahSeptember 16, 201318 Swedish pancakes small but good Denver omelette the best, French toast was ok, Sydney amber gives you a little bit of everything. Hash browns awesome, bacon over cooked and lemonade to sweet.
- Albert AmadorMay 5, 2019Great old diner feel with lots of photos of San Fran being built. Pancakes with syrup and lingonberries was great. Bacon was dry but the apple chicken sausages were amazing! Fast service!
- Virginia CabreraNovember 22, 2017This restaurant is amazing!!! I highly recommended.. the service is great and the pancakes are delicious. If your are in San Francisco can't miss it. I definitely come back .
- Andrew HogueMarch 12, 2014Eggs Benedict is one of the better that I've had in SF. Perfect eggs, good hollandaise sauce, great English muffins.
- Corned Beef Hash is awesome. Al's Combination is the best of everything at Sears. Corned Beef Hash, Hash Browns, 2 eggs your way and 9 silver dollar pancakes!
- iFatma A.B.February 15, 2017Their famous pancakes are really delish!! Enjoyed their hash brown too and their eggs benedict!! Will come again whenever I'm here!
- Jill BaruzziniSeptember 3, 2018Hashbrowns were the best my hubby has ever had, creamy in the middle & crispy on the outside. I had the sweetish pancakes they were great
- Dalì-La RienzoApril 30, 2018Old school place ... try the 18 little pancakes and benedict eggs ... worth the visit!
- Phillip WhartonMay 20, 2019Nice old fashioned atmosphere and interior. Reasonable prices and down to earth. If you can avoid the main seating area it is much quieter.
- Caleb DavisOctober 30, 2013Amazing breakfast; there will be a line but it moves quickly; Do not be afraid to sit at the counter, you may even have more space there.
- PMZ Real EstateJuly 8, 2010This has got to be the BEST breakfast in town and the perfect way to start the day. The corned beef hash is amazing but be sure to bring your appetite!
- Richard BlakeleyMarch 20, 2017The food is outstanding, especially the Swedish pancakes, however the portions are quite small and on the expensive side. Great experience overall though.
- Susan WodaSeptember 21, 2013Brian (at the counter this morning) provided what I think was the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. Highly recommend!
- Ricky SherrillJune 28, 2015One of the best breakfast spots in the Union Square area. I am a regular whenever I am in town.
- Irina BoteaSeptember 16, 2018Didn't try the famous pancakes but the eggs Benedict were spot on. The waiting time to be seated was under 5mins, which is something I loved.
- Piotr ZolnierekJuly 11, 2016Pancakes are good - normal I would say. Omelets like everywhere else in the US - totally overcooked. Scrambled eggs are indistinguishable from omelets. It has wifi, pwd is pancakes.
- Angie ChillemiNovember 14, 2012We were seated right away, (for dinner) but the food took an hour to arrive and the place wasn't busy. Other than that, it was delish, and a good variety of food!
- Mark MellorAugust 10, 2012Breakfast is the king! I am not a corned beef hash kinda person but it is very good! Have to order the pancakes whatever you choose!
- If you happen to be here for dinner, you could ask for a not-on-the-menu 1/2 order of Swedish pancakes for desert. They'll do it. It's good.
- Maria SparsisAugust 13, 2013Two of us once spent 4 nights at the Sir Francis Drake. We had 144 Swedish pancakes between us! Get them with lingonberries and bacon!
- Danielle HancockJanuary 8, 2016Great for breakfast (love the pancakes), don't go for dinner--we were seated immediately but no one came to wait on us for a while and we left.
- Rachel GruberSeptember 5, 2013The pancakes are good but the corned beef hash was great. Get with over-easy eggs.
- HklingFebruary 3, 2017Get the hash browns... whatever you do... they are buttery and crispy. The best I've had
- Wayne AndermanJune 24, 2013Ask the hostess cor countwr seating when you arrive and she will check with the line- because it is a no wait proposition 80% of the time.
- Michelle KahyaJanuary 9, 2013They are open for dinner too. Delicious blue plate specials and vanilla pannacotta with berries was divine!
- Kevin Van NessJuly 10, 2011New York steak, peppercorn sauce, medium rare. Highly recommend it--very delicious. Get it with mashed potatoes to top things off. Great dish.
- John FlyingOctober 15, 2013Place is crazy busy on the weekends, but weekdays is fine. Sit at bar top for prompt service. AJ Special is a good option.
- Jin KApril 13, 2013Hashbrown may have been my favorite part of the meal. Crunchy crispy delicious exterior.
- CarlosSeptember 2, 2013The della fried chicken is very good, probably better than the fried chicken in Farmer's Brown
- Roberto AMay 5, 2015Very good food!!! The people even better. They were very kind and helpful. Thanks
- Anna FahlmanAugust 31, 2014It was good breakfast and ok prices but the total waiting time from the line until food on the table was 1 hr - try Diner around the corner instead!
- Vidhya GholkarMay 9, 2011Nice breakfast spot. Sat at the counter to eat my umpteen mini pancakes: very filling. Wish you luck with the free slot machine token :)
- Kurt WeisenbergerOctober 4, 2010Great coffee & service. Counter seating is good if you're solo but if you get here before 7:30 am weekdays table seating not a problem. Great eggs Benedict!
- Nathan RhoadsDecember 24, 2012Skip the way overrated corned beef hash and stick to the amazing pancakes. Fruit bowls are kinda awesome, too.
- Jeff MJanuary 23, 2016Pancakes and bacon, a great start to your morning in San Fran at this iconic venue.
- Sad to say, Flavours have gone downhill. Hash browns, no longer crispy, corned beef hash, dry. Syrup is now a "Costco knock-off" of maple syrup. You have to ask and they bring a small 1.5 oz bottle.
- Abby CJuly 1, 2015Known for the Swedish pancakes but the Denver omelette was great. No cell reception in the restaurant. Not the best for the price.
