That amazing smell you smell when you arrive is the pocorn vendor. You can find him right outside of the McDonald's on the ground floor. $1.50 for a huge bag of freeah popped corn.

Get ur tickets at the njtransit machine on the platform instead of the counter in order to avoid lines. Happy traveling!
Keep an eye on the monitors for track information. Sometimes trains change tracks <5 minutes before they arrive.

There's an A-Hole that gets on in Harrison that will try to verbally attack you if you even BREATHE to loud while standing next to him! (On the PATH). Kill him w/kindness! LMAO...you'll win that fight

The DepartureVis board is always wrong. You could spend a lot of time running from platform to platform missing trains for hours. No need to bring a totem - it's a guaranteed nightmare here.

Ana N.July 30, 2013Going to Rutgers? Take the Newark Light Rail (towards Grove Street) to Washington Street to get to RU Newark. $1.50 versus a $10 taxi ride.
There is a less known waiting room b/w tracks 3 & 4, locations 5/6. You can tell it's there by the fresh paint smell. No bums, no beggars. Great air conditioning.
Some people haven't learned that you stay to the right on staircases. Teach them, the hard way.
Busy place. Not the most fun place to hang out, but serves as a suitable transit station.
@mmm...bellos try a couple of glasses if wine, nachos and wings... The best in the area. Worth every single penny.
Give the homeless people something you will feel good at the end of the day
Bums take over this area late night and halls smell like piss..best bet is to keep it moving always!!!

This place is a nightmare. Seating for ticketed passengers only. I have a ticket but cannot sit anywhere; homeless people everywhere. I don't think they have tickets. Behind the DD pee smell
Popcorn and a liquor store!! It sure beats getting stuck in Wilmington.- During times of severe delays or cancelations, keep your cool and remember to be civilized. It helps with everyone's commute.

If you ever feel nostalgic about NYC circa 1973, take a swing by the McDonalds at Penn Station, Newark. Vagrants, pan handlers, doped out beatniks passing out in the stalls. Beautiful.
Nice if they announced a track change before this old lady had to sprint past cops and up stairs to make the midnight train!
