I recommend the path along the south edge of the grove, next to the fence for the nursery. It's quiet and beautiful.

One of the best POPOS in the Financial District. You will be 15 floors above so the view is quite nice. Good spot to bring lunch or just have a quiet place to talk or relax.
Awesome POPOS in FiDi. Certainly a hidden gem in this concrete jungle - if you can sneak away or spare an hour on a sunny day come here for lunch or an afternoon reprieve!

Not worth $7 for out of town visitors. Interesting to know Memoirs of a Geisha was filmed here.
My favorite spot in the Botanical Garden. It is beautiful and tranquil. It makes for a great place to quietly reflect.

One of the best little hidden gems in the city.
Walk up Russian Hill from North Beach about three or four blocks, and you'll come to these famous wooden steps that were featured in the PBS version of Armistead Maupin's "Tales of the City."
Not much of a view but the experience of a path long secret gardens js worth checking out.

Best and least known public garden in SF
Do the Sundays Farmer's Market (Sundays 10am - 1:30pm) down the hill, then come up and sit on one of the benches in the garden for a bit. Makes for an incredible Sunday morning.
Grab a sandwich from Greens in Lower Fort Mason or Cafe Franco in the HI hostel and enjoy the beautiful setting.
