Andrea Hong: One of my fave museums in the city, always with fresh & interesting exhibits in a beautiful space. Free on the first Sat of the month w live music & talks from 5-11pm, but any day is awesome here.
Raphael Langenscheidt: Awesome museum, with free admission if you go at the right time. Plus - awesome changing exhibits, like the incredible Faile exhibit.
Michelle Wiles: One of my favorite NYC museums- the exhibits are curated so well and often tell a fresh story about the artist. The architecture is also stunning on its own.

Roger Schonfeld: Highly recommended both for the exhibits - interesting for adults but many child-friendly too - as well as the amazing vintage subway cars that you can explore.
Manda Shettleton: Absolutely worth your day and your $7. Tons of trains (I mean a ton), interactive exhibits, and history. Will keep all ages entertained for hours. In a decommissioned subway station. BYO lunch area!

Aarthi D.: Super cool tiny museum with relics of New York past, hence the name. The special exhibits are really well done. Inexpensive and just generally fascinating.

David Blackman: Artsy bookstore/publisher with art books, children's books and hipster books. Always has a great art exhibit on the wall, usually photography. Great readings here too,

Joseph Kennedy: Half of the interactive exhibits aren't functioning properly and the cafeteria could use some healthier options. Otherwise, worth a visit
Christina Yin: Perhaps it was because it was a free weekend day, the museum was packed full of kids. Personally, I prefer LICM over brooklyn. The exhibits here are a mess, the staff here aren't too attentive.
