- You haven't been to Melbourne until you've brunched at St Ali. Forget about it. Everything is amazing. If you are reading this, you have won.Upvoted Feb 12
- Nathan LOctober 14, 2013Perhaps my best coffee's in Melbourne... Got recommended by a friend and really enjoyed the food. The menu and food were amazing too. Busy but cool atmosphere. Great staff. Will definately be back.
- Awesome service. A super-busy morning; they accidentally kept us waiting a while. When they realised they were sooo apologetic and we got VIP treatment. All is forgiven. (And coffee worth waiting for)
- Ben MackeyApril 3, 2015Try a few different coffees while you decide what you want from the extensive menu. The mushrooms (Coo Koo Ca Choo) is good, but I think the Mexican Cousin is the winner here.
- JoannaFebruary 25, 2016Excellent coffee. Perfect piccolo. Amazing food. Plenty of vegan and gluten-free options as well. Top 3 cafe in Melbourne. Highly recommended!
- Piccy LokeMarch 22, 2015service was good , unlike what other people have said. could be just a combination of a busy day and shorthanded on staff to have resulted in those experiences. food and coffee is great!
- VeeveeviiviiAugust 21, 2017Got the corn pancakes - delicious! Crispy on outside and mushy on inside. So good w the salsa and fried egg.
- TomfooleryMarch 10, 2015The Barista Breakfast is great. Their choice of an espresso, cappuccino & filter.. It'll keep you buzzing for a while!
- W CJanuary 28, 2020All the meals we ordered were delicious but my friends had massive food envy over The Dirty Eggs that I ordered. Scan the QR code on the menu if you want to see pics of the food.
- James RidenourMay 8, 2013My Mexican Cousin is a must if you like corn fritters. Awesome coffee and great warehouse location. One of the best cafes around. Salvatore is often there, say hi!
- Jonathan RossMarch 16, 2015I thought eating in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney was pretentious until I ate here and saw things on the menu like 'Baby Iranian Figs', and 'Gas Marinated Olives'. I LOVED this place! Food to inspire!
- You can checkout the daily specials online which is much easier then the whiteboard, they even provide a QR code on the menu for you, link is http://www.stali.com.au/pages/specials-board
- nyao foodieSeptember 27, 2016Coffee and croissant were beautiful. I didn't feel so comfortable with staff and atmosphere tho. Doesn't have warm environment.
- Jack OJuly 21, 2015Coffee is nice, if a little on the dark side of speciality coffee. All the food is actually quite spectacular.
- Nicole WoodJanuary 12, 2018The buttermilk pancakes were amazing. Very decent size, I struggled to get through them. The coffee was the best I have had in Melbourne.
- Jason McNuttJune 27, 2015Coffee of course and wide range of organic and ancient grain options...if you like that sort of thing. Truffled eggy goodness as well.
- This has got to be one of my favourite coffee places in Melb. Service is amazing – the staff are super friendly! Love, love, love the coffee and the must-try prawn roll!
- Stephen MenziesFebruary 26, 2011This Dutch oven was amazing - definitely order with the poached egg and mix it in with the beans. Tastes bit like a Mexican bean breakfast. Also the tomato chutney that cam with the eggs was delicious
- Patrick KirbyJanuary 17, 2015Relaxed atmosphere with a good buzz. Interesting menu with quality ingredients and solid coffee.
- Tim MaskellNovember 28, 2010Love the coffee, love the food, love the staff. Just find it bemusing that they have four empty tables in the cafe with no chairs and a queue of people at the door?!! Give us a milk crate to sit on!
- Lynn WabbitMarch 26, 2015Back for more Pepe Saya's fluffy bits. Buttermilk pancakes with burnt figs, toasted hazelnuts, puff grains and crème fraîche 😍
- Joe LipperFebruary 16, 2018The Daddy was an incredible sandwich and the flat white was very well done. Also ask for hot sauce with it.
- KennyDecember 8, 2014Try the chilled bottled batch brew coffee on a hot day. Definitely hits the coffee withdrawals on the head.
- You will be in coffee & Brekky / Brunch heaven here at St Ali !!! ... Try their international beans roasted in house or a "Syphon" for a super smooth full flavoured coffee experience!
- Vanessa GohAugust 6, 201263 degree eggs above (not below). Comes with cauliflower puree ans candied bacon. Enough said. When you eat it, feels like you've died and gone to heaven!

- Ben PettitAugust 29, 2010The best coffee and breakfast in Melbourne (chorizo and chutney to die for - add it to your breakie), also try Outpost in South Yarra and Sensory Labs in David Jones (same owner)
- If your ever in need, there is free wifi when you sit in for a coffee or meal. Just ask the staff for the password.
- Markus MaurerDecember 22, 2011is it coffee heaven? no. too hip, cool, noisy or busy to really celebrate and deepy enjoy coffee. but, still a place to go for a top coffee! :-)

- Eva SchiaveAugust 13, 2014Ancient grain salad is awesome. Best berber spice I have had outside of NYC
- Adam FFebruary 15, 2011The mother of all coffee dens. The expansive premises with breezy atmosphere is where the shoulders of bankers, marketers, tradies and loafers rub. Muchos Grandes St Ali. Long Black for me please!
- Josh WaymanDecember 31, 2014They don't do siphon coffee anymore. Still fantastic coffee though. Great breakfast options.
- Great food and coffee but most importantly, good looking wait staffs lol
- Aisling SmithDecember 11, 2012Not a secret anymore - great coffee and amazing place for breakfast now open in north melbourne too!
- TomatoSeptember 13, 2011This is where the third generation of coffee started in Melbourne and where The Slayer espresso machine has pride of place. The food ain't bad either.
- Craig AndersonSeptember 14, 2011Good coffee, but it seems like an agency meeting room during the day. Lots of phone calls about misprinted pamphlets, whispered gossip about office politics, and meetings about websites gone awry.
- Has become too big for its own boots. Staff are generally unfriendly these days and there's merch all over the place.
- Maki ZMay 9, 2013Koo koo ca chu however was amazing. Delish mushrooms and the most crispiest golden hash brown I've ever had.
- Diana M.November 10, 2011Try the Chai and my Mexican cousin. The French toast is great if you're in the mood for something really rich and sweet.
