If you have more than three or four hours for a layover, hop on the orange line and hit the city. But get back at least an hour and a half before your flight since security can be slow.

A4A and A4B is a long walk from the rest of Southwest gates. If you don't like a long walk take the tram

If flying Southwest and you're being dropped off, park further away and the TSA's don't harass you as much so you can say goodbye longer.

What can I say about Midway? It's like most airports in many ways. But it's so much less nightmarish than O'Hare.

If you need to charge up, follow the signs to gate A4- there's a large, hidden charging station just before the long carpeted concourse area begins.

It's best to eat in the food court because there is little to choose from elsewhere. In bust periods there can be a shortage of gate area seating.
