Best art gallery in DC, it's just shame some of the finest paintings in collection can't be photographed (for us from the other side of ocean whose memory of it will unavoidable fade with time).

It was interesting photographs and art pictures.
LOVE the "open" conservation labs and storage! An interesting side to museums that you rarely see. Don't leave without seeing this part of the museum on the third floor mezzanine and fourth floor.
There is currently an exhibit of nature photography that is truly awe-inspiring.

Almost inevitably occupied by a photographer (usually w/ models or a wedding party), this fantastically scenic overlook provides a great view of the Key Bridge & Rosslyn; also some very neat graffiti.

The garden is a living plant museum & was established by Congress in 1820. The Conservatory reopened in Dec 2001 after a four-year renovation,with approx 4,000 seasonal, tropical & subtropical plants.
Be sure to visit the new Jessie Cohen photography exhibit in the visitor's center. Spectacular.
