The highlight of my week when I worked near Embarcadero. Don't leave San Francisco without a visit to the farmers market and grab some fresh produce – open Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.
This market is perfect for tourists and locals alike. The fresh produce here is fantastic. The strawberries are phenomenal and the meats are next level.
Come here to get all sorts of fresh produce. Very friendly vendors. Much better than the crowded and touristy Ferry Building farmer's market. Cheaper too.

HSM packs a lot into a small space. Great range of fresh produce and even better cheese and deli counters. Quirky but unpretentious in atmosphere, it's by far and away the neighborhood's best market.
I think this is the best indie grocery store in SF. When I worked on Haight, I would get lunch here every day. They have a variety of salads, sushi, and sandwiches ready to go at their deli counter.

Great place to get fresh produce for the week and support local farmers. Bring cash and come hungry. Get pork dumplings at the small stand on the end. 3 huge dumplings for $4.
So many good items to choose from. One of the best in the city. Get some pork dumplings to round out all of the awesome produce you just got. Buy your strawberries here too; better than grocery.
The ferry farms orange juice is a must buy!

LOVE the prepared foods at Sukhi's stand. My favorites are the Roasted Eggplant Spread and Veggie Paratha. And the samosas, of course. They will always make you a deal if you buy a few things, too!

The place to go for local, organic, and sustainable snacks and groceries. Produce here is always fresh and there are lots of samples offered. They cater and have a seasonal deli with a changing menu.
