4 July: Drink on the spot where America began. There was almost certainly a pub on the site when the Pilgrim Fathers walked the quayside, though they may not have made use of it themselves.

HISTORY UKFebruary 14, 2011The Mayflower, the ship that carried the Pilgrims to America in 1620, set sail from near this pub, and it also ended its days here. Timbers from the ship are said to have been used to build the pub.

- Cosy decor, but it's a wifi and mobile signal black hole. Awful place to try and work from.
Have the fish pie. Slight hints of thai green curry, if you like that sorta thing.
