The Philadelphia coffee company opened a spacious outpost on Lafayette where coffee experts come by for a quick espresso or cappuccino, all made with fair trade beans.
Delicious cortado. Great quality coffee. Grab a cookie and snag a seat. Mirrors are special. Cool set up with interesting (but limited) seating.

Get the Cortado ($2.50): two espresso shots topped with milk, and add a spoon of raw sugar. Can't beat it.

One of my favorite stops. A hole-in-the-wall espresso joint that serves killer espresso drinks & delicious olive oil cake. Not open late, and nowhere to sit, but its everything you want in coffee.
Order a latte with a slice of the amazing olive oil cake - you won't regret it. Definitely our favorite place to grab coffee in the East Village.

A very friendly coffee shop. The deconstructed latte is actually lovely - shot of espresso, milk, and a finished latte (with a wafer + water to cleanse the palate).

Best latte in the city - even better than stumptown. I think it has a lot to do with the milk they use. I always find out about cool theater productions while there and the staff is very friendly.
My favorite latte in the city. Don't sleep on the pastries either - they stick Dough donuts and insanely good croissants.

A chill and quiet spot, perfect for studying and reading. Although the décor and menu are minimalistic, their coffee is brewed to absolute perfection. The baked goods went perfectly with our espresso.
