- Their custom machine for filling growlers, attention to detail in design & materials, and their $35,000 La Marzocco espresso machine illustrate the myriad ways in which SN obsesses over every detail.
- Kenneth AdamsAugust 31, 2019Try to go on tours Monday thru Friday because they try to shut down the line from Friday til Sunday. But it was still nice to visit and the restaurant was good. Try the wings with hot sauce.Upvoted 3 weeks ago
- For an intimate, 3 hour tour into the depths of what makes Sierra Nevada tick, check out the Beer Geek tour. Well worth the modest cost. T-shirt and growler included w/ ticket.
- Alejandro MenocalJanuary 12, 2017The food here is great! I heard they change their menu often but the following are good: Duck fat fried(#1), Cajun pizza, lamb ribs, and great selection of beer!
- If you’re interested in limited-release, barrel-aged beers unavailable anywhere else in the world, inquire about SN’s Alpha Hop Society. Access to special tours & events is included with membership.
- This is an audacious claim, but I would put the Hop Hunter up against any IPA is Ash. It's that good! It also pairs very well with the Torpedo chicken wings.

- The 20-barrel Kaspar Schulz pilot brewing system, that you see on your right as you enter, is utilized by SN to brew their one-time-only “heartbreakers” and “audition” style brews.
- Most underrated item on the menu is espresso. Pulled from a $35,000 handmade Italian machine, these shots remind me of time spent in Paris and Prague.
- Debbie LatosJuly 29, 2018Band playing and beer with lime and Blue agave!!! What more could you want!
- John KraftOctober 20, 2018We took both the free & $12 tours with Kara as guide for both. The free 1 is adequate, including several beer tastings. Of course the paid 1 is more in depth with many more tastings & extra insights.
- If you wish to avoid long lines and a 2 hour wait for a table, arrive as they open on Saturday/Sunday. The crowd here is 95%+ tourists on weekends, so it def gets too crowded at times.
- Kari JohnsonOctober 7, 2017Try the food, try the beer, check out the visitors hall tour (it’s self guided) and definitely stop by for any of the bands. All around a great place for dates!
- During the summer months, they have live music on Friday/Saturday evenings at the amphitheater out back.
- If you’re directed to park behind the brewery, it’s best to take a detour to another brewery (Bold Rock Cidery) in the AVL area and return on another day, as this place is def too crowded at times.
- A team of Innovation Brewers produce approximately 150 new beers a year that are only available here and at the taproom in Chico, CA. The best kind of R&D :)
- John CoatesMay 22, 2017Get the tour, get some one offs (hopefully pils) and great some good food! Really great all around.
- Follow the path less traveled, to the left of the amphitheater stage, to enjoy brews and BBQ along the banks of the French Broad. Only open on Saturday/Sunday.
- John KraftOctober 20, 2018A varied - maybe eclectic - menu designed for sharing with of course a lot of beer choices. Wife & I split shrimp & grits & pretzels with beer cheese. Pretty good.
- Try the Christmas Jams session IPA and contribute to Habitat for Humanity, while getting your hops on.
- Brian SmithMay 6, 2019Really nice menu and the beer is fantastic! One of the places to hit when you are in Asheville, NC!
- Try the house pizza and thank me later :) Pairs well with Hop Hunter or Torpedo Extra IPA.
- KaitlinDecember 24, 2016Delicious food, beautiful space. Really loved the lamb ribs and duck fat fries. Do know it's small portions, though. As for beer, Raincheck, please!
- Tracy LoweSeptember 9, 2019Great place for day trip. A lot of drinking, eating, and music. Not really a place for kids. Food really good! And they had a truck with beer ice cream.
- The Hazy Little Thing pairs well with the carolina bison steak. In fact, it’s currently the best item on an awesome, always changing menu!
- While running The Homebrew Shop in Chico, California, Grossman was exposed to a wide variety of hops from around the world - Yakima WA, Slovenia, Germany, and Czechia.
- SN’s Trail Pass IPA is a hard pass for me. Lacks the body, character, & complexity found in all great IPAs and compares poorly vis-à-vis NAs from Athletic Brewing.
- If you have an affinity for choice IPAs, try the Hazy Little Thing. On the ‘Stranger Things’ scale, it’s an 11. Once you go Hazy, you never go back 😋
- Zulma Bauzo-SolaJuly 12, 2021Wonderland was just perfect for my taste! A bold hop flavor, and a bright burst of nectarine. Delicious and refreshing! 5 stars!
- After an absence of several years, Hop Hunter is back on tap! Made with distilled hop oil, this unique IPA pairs well with Joyce Farms torpedo wings. 😋
- The vaunted Hop Hunter is set to return as part of a sampler pack around April of this year. It’s also likely to be on tap in the taproom.
- Grab a Resilience Butte County IPA to support the rebuilding of Paradise, CA. Over 1,400 breweries are participating with every dollar raised going to the Camp Fire Relief Fund.
- jiresellAugust 9, 2017Great selection of Sierra Nevada beer readily available along with some only available here!
- Someone keeps merging this with the SN Taproom, which is incorrect. The brewery opened in 2012, whereas the Taproom opened over 3 years later in 2015.
- In 1980, the year Sierra Nevada Brewing was founded by Ken Grossman, there were only 40 legacy breweries in existence. Today, there are over 8,000 breweries in the US.
- BoB DarnellFebruary 17, 2022Disneyland for beer drinkers! Awesome facility , beer and service. Food looked very good too.
- Try Liquid Hoppiness, which is a hazy, NE style IPA that features a more hop fwd character that balances out the juiciness nicely. 😋
- The Homebrew Shop, opened in 1976 by SN’s founder - Ken Grossman, is still open for business in downtown Chico, CA.
- Great beer and amazing food. This Brewery is like the Biltmore Hose of Breweries.
- Pair your favorite IPA with Hop Splash to create your own session IPA.
- Hazy Little Thing passed Pale Ale, recently, to become SN’s top selling beer.
- They’re targeting a reopening date of May 12th at reduced capacity. Please check the website FAQ more for info.
