- Kevin EnnisNovember 5, 2015Service is super friendly. RED gave us great suggestions, ask for him. The porkchop was really juicy. My girlfriend enjoyed the coconut mojito. There have lots of wine and craft beer options too.
- Michael NataleJanuary 6, 2016Love the downtown La Isla. But Uptown has just as much menu integrity with a higher degree of swank. Giant windows to peer out. Huge space with massive bar. Try the hemmingway drink or the mojito.
- Uptown kicks it up a notch. Both locations are great & have their own character. Try the Camarones Enchilado - jumbo shrimp sautéed in olive oil, garlic, onion, peppers, olives & creole-style sauce
- A fine selection of quality wines. Bottles are affordably priced unlike much of Hoboken. Thank Armando if you see him. He's a wine expert, owner of Sparrow & La Isla, & has been in town for decades
- Authentic and fresh Cuban cuisine from breakfast to dinner. Not to mention 12 lines of craft beer, 50 wines by the glass, and amazing cocktails.
- Churrasco a Caballo con Arroz y Frijoles Negros - grilled skirt steak topped with red onion served with fried eggs, rice and black beans
- Luis GouveiaOctober 14, 2016Elegant and delicious. Must have the maduros and the empanadas. If your looking for an incredible meal just ask for the daily specials. They are always spot on.
- David LaffertySeptember 14, 2015I can't say enough good things about this place. The food was insanely good and incredibly authentic. It does take a while but it is made to order. You will not be disappointed.
- Twinkle DenoyoJuly 23, 2017Get the daily specials, on saturdays they have the lechon (reeallly good!!!) And the grilled chicken (pollo asado) is bomb! Comes with 2 side dishes.
- Eldon CarandanApril 30, 2016Authentic Cuban food!!! Skirt steak was amazing & the fried yuca adds a nice touch. 👌🏽
- The place fills up fast with long time locals and newcomers. Book your reservations online and early. You'll know what I mean when you see how fast the spots go.
- Rob CarrollJune 4, 2017The Bloody Mary was great and so was the mashed potato ground beef croquettes with perfect salsa.
- A nice new and special addition to an uptown dining scene that has one too many uninspired options.
- The owners are old school, wonderful people. If you spot Armando, Annabelle or Omar, say hello!
- NicoleJuly 10, 2017The food was good, when it was right. Service forgot a lot of things we ordered and didn't bother with things like steak knives for those who ordered steak. Downtown's better.
- Anthony GreenJuly 30, 2016Surprisingly good beer menu. The bartenders are great and so are the sandwiches.
- Cynthia LinAugust 8, 2015Super nice staff but still working out some kinks. No small plates on the menu are available before dinner.
- Ari Z.July 18, 2015Barely people in the restaurant and turning people away. Not a good look! Never going back; thanks!
- Goatha06November 6, 2022Es un lugar genial. Puedes probar pollo al ajillo y chicharitas de malanga con jamon y chiche sureno con un mojito🍸. Bon provecho
