- This new spot by chef James Lowe is quickly becoming a brilliant showcase of modern British cuisine. While that may come as no surprise, they're also serving some of the best coffee in Shoreditch.
- Rylan HoleyNovember 23, 2014I highly recommend this East London fine dining experience. The menu changes daily and is full of surprises - including a few courses that aren't advertised. Perfect for a special occasion.
- Natalie LiuJuly 12, 2018Looooove this place! Everything’s perfect, food, vibe, service, everything. I ordered the monkfish for lunch, and it’s absolutely amazing. Best fish dish I’ve tasted for years. Licking plate LOL
- NikkiSeptember 5, 2014Menu changes daily but we lived the duck hearts with sweet corn as well as the beef and mussel tartare. Order extra appetizers and share them - at dinner it's a set tasting menu
- Daren WilliamsMay 23, 2016Seasonal British cuisine, 4 course menu that changes daily. Great combination of flavours in each dish. Highlights were the duck and the espresso meringue
- Daren WilliamsDecember 19, 2017High quality coffee served at the bar - take a seat and ask the barista what filter coffees are on offer. Espresso, flat white, etc, available too.
- They have a secret coffee bar during the day serving coffees from the likes of Koppi. Had a selection of the small starter plates for lunch which were all excellent. Decor is St. John chic. v cool.
- Thiago MaiaSeptember 19, 2016Great ingredients, well plated and amazing taste. What else you could ask for. Order few plates and share to be able to taste all.
- Have the filter coffee, it's wonderful (and still a fairly rare thing) to get decent coffee at end of meal for once. At £39 for 5 courses it's great value showcasing some decent modern British cuisine
- David RosenbergMay 1, 2014You can't go wrong here but rejoice extra hard if the sardines on toast or the netil soup are on the menu. And if you like Vermouth try an Americano before dins.
- Edoardo PortoraroMay 29, 2019Traditional English menu with an acidity and earthy print. The price is a little bit high, but overall I’d say 7.5/10 I didn’t like the 1£ for charity that was added, without my consensus, to the bill.
- Clay VickersFebruary 4, 2016Michelin 1 star. Pretty clean, sterile decor. Quick service. They only do a set menu for dinner which actually makes things easier and fast!
- Nikhil VartyOctober 14, 2021One of THE best dining experiences ever … food was phenomenal… service was OUTSTANDING… Patrick was superb, knowledgeable, friendly and patiently explained everything … Thanks
- Gary SimmonsDecember 18, 2014Excellent modern British cooking in the heart of trendy Shoreditch. Menu changes daily but have the Ox Heart if poss! Full review on Scoff: http://scofflondon.com/restaurants/lyles-restaurant-review/
- Condé Nast TravelerOctober 18, 2016“Chef James Lowe’s food represents an evolution of British cuisine from sturdy nose-to-tail cooking to an elegant celebration of the delicacy of the English seasons.” - David Prior Read more
- For lunch, just get two small plates per person. You will have a feast for cheap. Coffee is amazing here, so save some room at the end.
- Little ScrapesJuly 29, 2017Delicious and innovative 5 course fixed tasting menu. Worth it as a treat or if someone else is paying. Sets a high bar for a first date.
- Ben K.May 29, 2016One of London's best new restaurants. Really smart cooking here, and comes as an affordable price fixed meal.
- Bhavani EsapathiSeptember 6, 2014Don't even think about going in if you've accidentally worn denim on the day, the pretentiousness doesn't end with coffee nonetheless good coffee & the barista behind the bar is really friendly.
- clive kornitzerApril 20, 2018Great food vibe and service interestingly wine list the ox tail and marrow crumpets were the standout dish for me
- Antonia StrotdreesAugust 13, 2018AMAZING! Just lean back and enjoy all the menu has to offer. Delicious natural wines!
- Simon WüthrichApril 29, 2015One of my favorites in London. Quite innovative but down to earth British cuisine. Very good value for your money.
- Kay TeoJuly 11, 2018There’s a coffee bar here in the morning serving one of London’s best single origin pour overs.
- Stijn Ortega coppinOctober 2, 2015Interesting excersise in deconstructed food. The menu was honestly hit and miss 50/50. Would ultimately not return quickly. The wine list doesn't perfectly compliment the ever changing menus.
- Shane BoyleJuly 14, 2019Lol that this has only an 8. Rated one of the world’s best and for what it is, you cannot beat the price.
- Allan SheriffFebruary 23, 2016Great quality food, but heavy on the cheese during my dinner menu. Would love to go back for an a la carte lunch.
- KOctober 5, 2016Delicious seasonal menu. Couldn't move after all the courses. They let you share glasses of wine - I recommend doing that!
- Mihnea MiculescuMarch 11, 2017They do a fixed dinner menu and it changes fairly often - the food does not disappoint and neither does their wine selection.
- Angela LiuSeptember 27, 2017Trendy modern british food with a daily changing menu. Food was okay and definitely on the salty side. Service was very slow too
- Berend Van ZantenMarch 21, 2016Very good value for money. Interesting combinations of food within a casual atmosphere.
- Ashley ChanAugust 3, 2018I don’t understand the hype. Every dish was extremely plain and disappointing. Smoked salmon, pea salad...really? The only redeeming factor was the blackcurrant dessert which was actually phenomenal.
- Vivian TanJuly 7, 2014Hidden good coffee place! I hope they serve breakfast, then it would be perfect.
- Brahim BahmadSeptember 11, 2016I was very very disappointed!!65th restaurant in the world really? 1 star Michelin? Bad service, the food was just ok..I don't know if it was a bad day for the chef and his team but really bad night!
- Leonardo ResendeAugust 20, 2016The food was not good. It was either oily, salty or burnt. Definitely does not shine as a Michelin star.
