Serious EatsFebruary 11, 2015The hand-pulled noodles are a little thicker and softer than ideal, but they come in broths you'll want to slurp and scrape out of the bottom of the bowl. Solid soup dumplings and sheng jian bao.

Amazing soup dumplings! Even the shrimp & loofa ones are delish (as strange as it sounds). The beef scallion pancakes and the ramen (Chinese hand pulled noodles, NOT the Japanese type) are a must!
Wonton soup is great. Plump and delicious wontons stuffed with pork and shrimp. Add extra meat (e.g. duck for $4) and Bok Choi ($2) to make it a full meal. Worth the 15 minute wait.

Shanghai Pan-Fried Pork Buns are incredible. Reminds me of famed Yang's Dumplings in Shanghai.

The soy-vinegar mixture was sweetened with sugar, but you can ask for it to be unsweetened which is my preference.

Soup dumplings are super juicy with soup and thin skinned. On point! Duck buns are tasty tho slightly greasy. Got stir fried hand cut noodles w chix..it was just ok.

The soup dumplings are the standout here, but I also really liked the pan fried dumplings and sticky rice stuffed shumai.

I haven't found XLBs in manhattan that I thought were good but that search may be over. Really good hand made noodles too.
