- Diana ArzMarch 5, 2017What a surprise, this place is awesome!!! Clean, beautiful, delicious 😋. Everything is super oily, but taste 👍. Try beef with bamboo shoots and handmade noodles.
- Daniel GraysonMarch 22, 2019That 1000 chili fish is DELICIOUS. And not as spicy as it looks, so if those pictures are making you nervous, don’t back down. Truly a gem of a Chinese restaurant, one worth making a trip to try.

- My favorite chinese place around Berkeley. Everything I try here turns out awesome. Some recommendations - Changsha claypot chicken, north schezuan fish fillet with chinese celery and cumin lamb
- Hot & sour soup is A+, lots of tofu. The handmade noodles are great but maybe it goes without saying that they don't keep entirely well. Sesame chicken is sweet and delicious.
- On my first visit we got a whole fried fish. Unfortunately it was also covered in a candy like sauce. Want to try this place again. It comes highly recommended.
- Anything with fish, get whatever greens they're doing that day, skip all the American "classic" stuff and order chef specials!
- Cameron WMay 14, 2016The 1000 chili fish soup is amazing. The chicken broth is very flavorful and the pieces of fish are delicately tender.
- Amazing vegetables and Zha Jiang Mian ( black bean paste handmade noodles)
- Carolyn MAugust 10, 2014The spicy sautéed cabbage and hand pulled noodles are so good! Great service and huge portions!
- The Bold ItalicApril 12, 2013For lunch, the special spicy vegetable noodles dish is a mouthwatering tease with a spicy-sourness that will require many glasses of water. http://bit.ly/10egem6
- Brittany BurrowsSeptember 26, 2013Get the Boiling and Spicy Whole Fish and soak up the juice with the sesame bread.
- Whenever we are here there are tables of UC Students speaking Chinese. One time there was a bus if exchange students who came here every night!
- west style fish fillet (actually a soup)-great roasted pepper flavor.
- The braised dry string beans and also the tofu/greens soup are killer.
- China Village was recommended by my friend Nora Wong - that's probably why it made it into the Michelin 2010 guide
- Katia CuevasJanuary 30, 2011Rice came in a pool of oil, meat was tasteless. First and last time here.
