A rare find. Their lattes are consistently perfect and I think they bake their own pastries. The croissants are the best I've found in this city, always super fresh and buttery. Delicious!!
While Rex is technically a "Coffee Shop" it is also one of the few shops in the city (and certainly in the area) where you can get a good cup of loose leaf tea. They source their teas from Rishi.
The only modern coffee shop for blocks, Rex is a godsend to Hells Kitchen, serving up Counter Culture coffee, pressed sandwiches, and housemadebaked goods to nearby workers and far west side denizens Read more
Delicious egg sandwiches and coffee. Great spot to grab breakfast. Small interior, but close to the Hudson so if you can’t find a seat take your order to go and sit by the river!
I work nearby and this place is a beautiful coffee oasis in a sea of midtown delis. Great sandwiches, nice people, and two tables to sit at if you want to hang around.
The anti-starbucks! Exceptional coffee, smiling faces and a warm atmosphere that gave us the true NYC/Hell's Kitchen experience. It's a must when you're in the area!
Egg sandwich won my heart. We spent about 5 minutes together but it felt like 2. I wish I could have spent more time to get to know the egg sandwich but she vanished before my eyes. I'll miss you. <3
I've been here so many times and it's still the perfect little coffee shop to study at. You just have to bring a pair of headphones. It's busy. High turnover. 2tables w about 10 chairs. Awesome!
Hands down some of the best coffee in NYC. The owner and his staff really know their coffee. Great people and great coffee make this my go to spot in the hood.
The coffee is amazing - oh and the croissants are fantastic too. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the science behind coffee brewing...must be why it's so good!
Great pour over, Counter Culture coffee, local vibe. Cookies are just liked I baked them myself! But I am not a good baker so peanut butter cookies come out a bit burned looking, but they taste ok.
I like the decor- it's spacious, but that's about it. The iced lattee was average. The staff could be friendlier. They also play hip hopmusic a little TOO loud for a coffee shop, in my opinion.
The only bad thing about this place is its popularity. It's quite crowded for lunch so get there early (or after the rush) to get a seat by the window.
Love this place. Counter culture beans. Flavorful pour-over. Wish it had more space but more space might ruin the experience so its okay. Too cold to stay longer in the winter.
Most of what goes by this shop is heavy truck traffic heading uptown, but there are people too. Rex is above street level and with a full glass front you can't help but gaze out. Coffee & wifi. Read more
