- Easily in the top 3 of ramen places in the Bay. You know they are serious about noodles when you see the Tampopo poster in the restroom. First ever vegetarian ramen I actually liked!
- Arrive early to hold a table in the long lines. Grab a cocktail or Japanese whiskey from the bar and find a seat among the architectural nooks. The rich ramen with al dente noodles are with the wait.
- Cameron WDecember 21, 2014Trendy place with Chez Panisse pedigree. The veg toppings are original, the noodles are very good and the miso broths are very thick on the tongue. Great flavor, very well done. A bit pricey.
- Frank KimAugust 22, 2014Pretty nice selection of drinks here, got the $15 Prairie Bomb! Stout, was excellent. The fried rice appetizer was awesome, and I tried the Veggie Shoyu Meyer Lemon Ramen, was pretty fantastic.
- hopelessly hooked on the miso but the smokey bbq beef shoyu almost stole my heart. pickle plate is perfect. large fried rice take home leftovers for a scramble tomorrow morning. tampopo bathroom 👍
- The fried rice is surprisingly good, and comes in app and entree portions. All of the ramen is tasty (and overpriced), but it’s a fun atmosphere with great drinks and a hip vibe.
- Delicious Ramen and an impressive whiskey selection, but sitting at the ramen bar and watching them prepare your food is the best part
- Craig VillamorDecember 30, 2018Pork miso ramen is tops. Good cocktails and beer selection. Great atmosphere. They also serve brunch! Beignets are amazing.
- Karen HartAugust 2, 2015Everything was good here the service the freshness of the food special drinks and the atmosphere I will be a frequent customer. Thank you for all your hard work. You all make a great team.
- Chefs FeedDecember 3, 2015"This spicy ramen is so satisfying. The broth is perfectly seasoned and all of the ingredients are seasonal and fresh." Chef Michael Tusk Read more
- They do pastries, coffee, and tea on weekend mornings. Their matcha bear claw is super.
- Daniel GraysonJanuary 10, 2018That miso ramen will live in my dreams. The best I’ve had in the states in a LONG time.
- Terence ChanApril 5, 2015Delicious ramen! The menu is always changing and yet everything is always good. Poke and the fried rice is delish!
- Owen HauptFebruary 27, 2019The ramen is killer! My friend had the garlic duck and I had the spicy miso. Both KILLED. Great bar as well; the bartender made a fantartic Scofflaw.
- Ian KennedyOctober 30, 2016Sample the St. George's spirits at the bar while you wait. Definitely try the squid ink fried rice.
- Brian BMarch 9, 2018The miso ramen is absolutely incredible. One of my top 3 ramens including NY & SF. Just as rich and hearty as the best tonkotsu.
- TakeshiFebruary 16, 2013Soup and salted-egg are awesome. Very delicate. Noodle doesn't seem authentic ramen noodle, which is a bit disappointing, but overall, great stuff! Try Miso or Tantanmen as well!
- J TApril 25, 2017Great ambience, amazing flavors. Don't forget to get the tempura fried spring onion before your ramen.
- BommySeptember 4, 2015Expensive but worth a try. Come alone to avoid a long wait and definitely get the black sesame ice cream sandwich.
- Nicole AptekarSeptember 1, 2014Unbelievably delicious veggie ramen, the mushrooms and tomato were so flavorful! The ramen noodles themselves were not my favorite, but the broth and toppings were exquisite.
- YamengAugust 7, 2014Mind the wait which is long. Get a drink and wait at the bar area. Must have the squid fried rice, better than the ramen which is way too salty.
- The Taste SheriffDecember 16, 2017Awesome spot. Ramen is excellent but what's really great about this place is it's ambiance. Really cool!
- Thomas MAugust 6, 2016The ramen is off the chain - I got a duck breast version that was just incredible.
- Ronan Flynn-CurranJuly 5, 2015Tried a bunch of the bowls, all really great. Best ramen I've had! Get some cocktails and the pickle plate too.
- NYC transplants missing Ippudo, get the miso ramen here. Ask for ground chilies and go nuts.
- Brook ShelleySeptember 1, 2019Great noodles, and a pretty awesome liquor selection/cocktail menu. The grilled sardine was excellent.
- Who would have thought that a simple gem lettuce salad with green garlic cilantro dressing would be soooo tasty!
- m dSeptember 20, 2016I finally came here. Though my expectation went too much, it was not that good ramen. It's not bad for sure. Price is one of the reasons making me feel so.
- Vincent TangSeptember 4, 2015Smoked duck ramen was satisfying and hit the spot. Great depth of flavor that leaves you wanting more!
- Benjamin KintnerAugust 6, 2018Ramen is ok. Noodles and broth in the smoked duck ramen were spot on, but the toppings were poorly executed or chosen (e.g. grilled eggplant slices that disintegrate picking them up with chopsticks).
- Jason JamesJuly 30, 2014Unique ramen (e.g. Meyer lemon, burnt miso) from a Chez Panisse alum that has been drawing enthusiasts from all over since its opening.
- MariJanuary 13, 2018This place gets packed so expect a wait or come early. The miso ramen is amazing.
- Ben BarclayJuly 28, 2017No reservations, but you can enjoy a cocktail or three at the bar while you wait for a table.
- Rafi SyedApril 15, 2013Go early to avoid the wait. The ramen is all good but the shining star was the asparagus share plate. And cocktails.
- V COctober 30, 2016Hip, thoughtful decor. Usually 3 Ramen options are provided - large portions, great flavor.
- Shio ramen with Manila clams, spit roasted chashu, dhoti-marinated egg, scallions, and Mendocino nori
- Martin WeigertAugust 30, 2013Tasty Ramen but the restaurant itself feels only half-authentic, and prices are a bit high. If you are just in it for the Ramen, you can get it elsewhere way cheaper and with a more "Japanese" feel.
- Nicole POctober 7, 2017Great ambience. Beautiful and tasty food, but you're paying nearly $30 for a bowl of ramen...
- Everything is amazing. No need for appetizers. The ramen will fill you up no question!
- Best ramen outside if San Jose. A little pricey but what isnt in the bay
- The beef ramen, while slightly untraditional is like crack for the American palette. Amazingly delicious.
- Winson WongJanuary 17, 2016This place is alright. Wait was way too long for the quality of the food. It's more modern ramen place, noodles is less chewy than traditional ramen. Broth was flavorful but just not worth the wait.
- Killer. As good as the ramen is, that fried rice is the sleeper surprise on the menu.
- David HoltzJuly 3, 2017This place has a good soundtrack. The ramen is good, but the dumplings are also sneakily tasty.
- Emily RoseApril 2, 2015Pretty tasty, but I've had better. It looks v pretty and the spicy ramen broth is better. It's worth a try! You may love it or hate it. Overall: meh.
