- Jaden KaleFebruary 17, 2015Hit the Ma Kai station on a day they offer "Aloha Fries". $9 for a basket of pulled pork, kimchi paste, Japanese mayo, furikake, scallions, & a fried egg, all covering crispy fries... You can't lose!
- Serious EatsAugust 16, 2013Spam sliders, a killer view of the city, and a waterfront location. What more could you want? How about boozy shave ice, an expertly selected beer selection, and a full bar.
- Phuong NguyenMay 15, 2018Even if you don't like kimchi or fried rice, try their Kimchi Fried Rice. It comes with a fried egg on top. Make it a meal with the Loco Moco. Happy hour from 1-6 has $1 off draft beers!
- Ariana VoyerSeptember 7, 2017Perfect setting on the water with a view of the Seattle skyline! It's a very casual spot with a bar as well. We loved the GF tacos, kimchi quesadillas, sliders and lychee margaritas. Lots of flavor!
- You just can't beat the prices or the view...and that's why there's a line! Seriously, yummy, affordable Hawaiian fusion ($3 kalua sliders!), and a killer view across the bay of Seattle's skyline.
- Allie CaudleMarch 6, 2019I think everyone in Seattle loves this place. Try the kimchi quesadilla, taco salad or any of the menu options and i'm sure you'll fall in love too. Amazing views of Seattle included.
- Chew 001June 17, 2017If you are missing MaiTai , this place to go with the most spectacular view of the city's skyline. Go on a weekday evening to sit by the edge and enjoy a drink watching the waters and avoid the crowd
- Jeremy AkersFebruary 2, 2015Tacos are killer, spam sliders hit a not often scratched spot, kimchi fried rice is a must have. The menu is definitely at the intersection of a lot of good food, so purists may wanna keep it pushing
- Juvy LucinaJuly 18, 2013Loved it! Unexpected find. Great placement right at the water taxi drop off. Being from Hawaii, I was pleasantly surprised. Had the Kalua Pig quesadilla & spam musubi. Also Hawaiian sun drinks? WIN.
- Maya ShanmugamAugust 2, 2017The kalbi taco salad was so good! The pickled japalenos complement the sweetness of the marinade and the slaw. Also liked the macaroni salad, classic w/ a slight twist of added spam
- Enjoy postcard views of Seattle's skyline at Marination Ma Kai. Their menu offers great Korean fried rice, Hawaiian bites like Loco Moco and fish-n-chips. Full bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Read more
- Order the spam musubi and always get the jalapeño fizz if you like cocktails with a kick! Lots of seating and a long table w outlets for solo diners along the wall. So happy they've finally arrived.
- David GinsbergOctober 3, 2015Love the kimchi fried rice and the specialty cocktails. The view isn't bad either.
- Fish tacos with pickled onions and crema. Delish! But they're tiny, so if you're hungry get a few. Or order some Spam Musubi for a side. And a guava shave ice too!
- If you want to avoid the long lines at the front, which can extend out the door, go around to the bar where the line is shorter. The patio has a "drinks only" window too.
- Allie CaudleAugust 17, 2018You can't go wrong with the Aloha Sliders or Kimchi Quesadillas! The best kept secret is adding West Seattle's Husky Deli's Vanilla Ice Cream to their Shave Ice.
- Serious EatsMarch 7, 2014If you're coming from Downtown, take the Water Taxi across the sound--it arrives at Ma Kai's doorstep--for good views and a relaxing trip.
- Rachel CameronAugust 8, 2013Kalbi Beef Taco and Pork Slider was great. Fried Rice was just OK for me. View is amazing and a good sized patio. They'll add alcohol to your shaved ice! Careful, melts quick.
- Allie BriskinMay 3, 2016great views, great tacos. definitely get the miso ginger glazed chicken tacos and the pork sliders!
- Drew MilamAugust 23, 2016Order from the side window...assuming you're getting alcohol. So much faster! Also, kimchi fried rice is a must.
- SouthernBeetsOctober 1, 2014One of the best views of the Seattle skyline! Try 1) any taco and 2) kimchi quesadilla (my favorite quesadilla ever!).
- Mel CJuly 10, 2016Beef tacos and fries are awesome and affordable! Great atmosphere right on the water.
- Jonathan YagelOctober 4, 2016LL: "Awesome outdoor patio with Hawaiian fusion food & drinks…used to be a food truck, their brick'n'mortar in west seattle has an amazing view"
- Sam CSeptember 24, 2016The view is one of the best parts about this place, however their food holds its own, and their specialty drinks give them a boost above their competition!
- Jeremy BeasleyJune 19, 2014Make this a day trip. Take the foot ferry from downtown to west Seattle. You can hang out over there for a bit.
- Great food reasonably priced and a nice bar too...oh,and awesome city views...
- Fish taco, beef taco, pork slider, mac n' spam, and kimchi fried rice. Amazing.
- Alexandria BakerMay 8, 2014When you get a bunch of tacos and you want to know which is which ask them to put them in separate containers. I didn't eat any of my tacos because I couldn't tell which we're pork v.s. chicken.
- DominicMay 25, 2015Fish tacos- stay away, everything else is good. Especially if yur from CA. These are beyond sad fish tacos lacking in substance, presentation or flavor. Spicy pork tacos are the exact opposite but
- Spam slider, views of downtown seattle... Need I say more? 😉
- Get the veggie quesadillas and take in the amazing views!
- Jarson AbenojarMay 26, 2015This is a great spot! It has a great view of the Seattle skyline. Plus the food is cheap and hits you in all the right places.
- Larissa VidalOctober 29, 2017It turns out, spam musubi and a (virgin) bloody mary make the perfect snack after a long run.
- Matthew CMarch 30, 2016The fish taco was really good, the ginger chicken and kalbi beef tacos were ok. The shave ice is not like the real hawaiian shave ice I've had and I wouldn't recommend it.
- Emerson De OliveiraAugust 6, 2014If your going to order a drink with your food, order at the bar because you can put in your food order there too and our will be a lot quicker than waiting in the main line
- Jan GrodeckiJanuary 25, 2015This is a well kept secret. Great food and spirits with an unbeatable view of Seattle's skyline.
- I love the food here but their pricing is ridiculous. Over $23 for two Loco Mocos after tax is a joke, especially when the beef patty is tiny, as are the eggs. It's like 80¢ worth of ingredients max.
- Pratiksha ChauhanFebruary 1, 2016Best views of Seattle with great food - one of my fav places in summertime
- Jennifer YOctober 8, 2012All the joy of the Capital Hill location but with a view and plenty of seating! We will be regulars! Kalbi beef tacos are the best!
- Brett MorrisJuly 12, 2014The fries and Kalbi beef tacos are delicious. Come by on a clear day for the spectacular view.
- Lailanie GadiaJuly 4, 2016I enjoyed their Kahlua sliders along with eating with a view of the Seattle skyline!
- Pam MartinMay 2, 2014Kalua pork tacos! Two thumbs up! The slaw they put on those suckers...Y.U.M! Even better though ...the view!
- Try the shave ice. Lots of wonderful house made syrups to choose from. My favorite is coconut and guava.
- It's Seattle. It's the summer. Why aren't you riding the Water Taxi to Marination Ma Kai and grabbing a beer once you're there?
- Susan LaiJuly 23, 2019Bulgogi & pulled pork tacos are pretty good but small. Don’t forget to ask for extra taco sauce. Kimchi fried rice was too dry. Good margaritas.
