- KaitlinAugust 3, 2018Lord ha’ mercy, it’s good chicken, y’all. Worth waiting in line! I got the medium which suited my tastes perfectly — spicy, but still flavorful and not painful. Also loved the black eyed pea salad!Upvoted 6 days ago
- Bin YangApril 12, 2016Prepare for the wait of your life but some of the BEST fried chicken. I recommend the large dark meat platter with 2 sides. Collards and mac n cheese are killer. Cleanse your palette with a local IPA!Upvoted 1 week ago
- EaterJanuary 8, 2014This stalwart takes Nashville's famed hot chicken and does it right. Heat ranges from 'mild' to 'shut the cluck up,' plus a roster of southern sides, beer on tap, and Sunday brunch. [Eater 18 Member]
- Nicole FormicaSeptember 14, 2016Holy hot chicken. Mild is a bit spicy, if you are feeling rebellious go for the medium. The Pimento mac&cheese, potato salad, greens and black eyed pea salad should seriously already be on your tray.
- Rashad CainFebruary 6, 2015The chicken is so succulent. You can get white, dark, or tenders in a range of flavors. For some real heat you have to go with the "Damn Hot" though. The pimento Mac and cheese is highly recommended
- Alex McRobertsMarch 3, 2017"Mild" was enough for me, and anyone who likes a touch of spice. Also note, Small White, Breast and Wing, I expected these to come separate, not one piece. Delicious though, worth the lineup wait!
- Alison SteeleNovember 3, 2015A Nashville must! If you like spicy, I promise the hot is enough. The black eyed pea salad is great- vinegar-heavy but refreshing! And the crinkle fries are bomb. Can't go wrong here!
- Nicolas KubickiJune 26, 2018A word on heat: if you consider Tabasco spicy, aim low. If scorpion peppers and ghost peppers are your fare, however, aim high. The "shut the cluck up" has an amazing and powerful burn!
- Laura MarchandJune 8, 2018Their hot chicken is my favorite in Nashville! Prince’s is a classic but it’s too painful to even enjoy, Hattie B’s on the other hand has the heat but also has a great taste!
- Cameron GidariSeptember 5, 2016It's worth the wait. The fried tenders at any spice are amazing. Potato salad, cole slaw and mac n cheese are great. Shut the Cluck Up spice is no joke, it's wicked hot.
- Connie ChiuMarch 29, 2019Amazing fried chicken! Medium spicy was just right, could’ve gone a little spicier. The skin is crispy and the dark meat is juicy (much better than the white meat). Great beans and Mac n cheese.
- Greg S.June 29, 2016I wasn't sure what level of spiciness I would be comfortable with; we got one tender each of mild, medium, and hot and decided that Hot was the perfect amount of heat!
- BiaNovember 10, 2016Hot chicken sandwich = amazing! French fries were perfectly seasoned. Didn't like mac n chz. Long line outside but worth the wait. They have beer too! Friendly staff as well.
- Jon ChanMarch 6, 2017As someone who enjoys spicy food… do not underestimate the spice here. You'll think the Shut the Cluck Up is okay until you're 4 bites in and your body delivers the adrenaline rush as painkiller.
- EpicuriousAugust 3, 2014The best ways to cool down after the heat of the wings: a local beer from Jackalope Brewing Co., and creamy bacon-studded red skin potato salad with scallions and pimento mac 'n' cheese. Read more
- MonNovember 25, 2018The chicken sandwich is phenomenal, I would go for “hot” cause the slaw cools it down. You also can’t go wrong with the Mac and cheese as a side.
- Luc VJanuary 11, 2016Can't say this is the best chicken spot in Nashville cause it's the only one I've been too, but I now believe Nashville hot chicken is the best fried chicken I have ever had. No joke. Good sides too
- Madhu MAugust 23, 2018Get takeout -- don't wait in line. Get it as hot as possible. Get the banana pudding too.
- Kevin VJanuary 7, 2017I ain't expert in Nashville fried chicken yet this is a hot damn amazing fried chicken. Worth staying in line and enjoy! Hot spicy and sweet at the same time. Great with a cold IPA.
- cami j.March 26, 2018best hot chicken in nashville. fried perfectly with the perfect amount of spice! their sweet tea is excellent and i’m a fan of their greens!
- Landon LarsenSeptember 18, 2018Medium heat on the sandwich was just right! Stung a little but was sooo delicious! Lives up to the hype :)
- Hands down my favorite meal in Nashville. The Pimento Mac & Cheese is amazing, fries are great. Always get the tenders and a half sweet half unsweet tea. Take some for later. You'll be craving it!
- Christine ShepherdDecember 9, 2014Incredible fries chicken with huge portions. The "spicy" ratings for the chicken are spicier than average. You've been warned!
- Theresa RoldanApril 3, 2016Medium is pretty spicy. Anywhere else, the mild would be considered medium. I can vouch for the tenders, the mac&cheese, and the beans. All were excellent, but you might feel sluggish after the meal
- AnushaApril 9, 2017Medium is the perfect order if you can handle a decent level of spice (lookin' at my Indian/Asian people). Everything here is worth the wait. Get the pimento mac n' cheese.
- John KhuuAugust 4, 2016All of the ab workouts I've been working on for 6 months disappeared while eating a 1/2 bird. I hate/love you Hattie B's so much. I'll never look at fried chicken the same ever again. Thank you.
- Clint TaylorNovember 6, 2019The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had hands down. The people know what’s up, so there is a line exiting the building. Prime time might be tough.
- Billy CarrollMay 30, 2014Had the "Mild"... great flavor with a little heat....will try the medium next as I work my way up the heat scale. Mac & Cheese was delish & loved the crunchy pickles! Long lines but moves fast!
- Nick KubikJuly 22, 2013Food was awesome! It gets busy quick, make sure you have some time to spend. The line moves pretty quickly and food comes out fast. Parking can get tricky, be prepared! Don't park across the street!
- Miles BranmanApril 20, 2016The filet mignon is to die for! No but seriously, the chicken is phenomenal, the potato salad is delish and perhaps best of all: the staff love their jobs, and show it!
- Dustin LeeOctober 15, 2017Order online to skip the line.Get the dark meat, get it hot (perfect level), and get it with the mac and cheese. Some of the best chicken I ever had.
- All of you people talking about how shut the cluck up and damn hot aren't as spicy or hot as other places in town are full of shit! I love hot and eat Thai hot curry all the time, and this is hot.
- Great flavor to go with a mild heat. They're no where near the spiciest in town, but impressive taste nonetheless. If you like heat, go all the way, completely doable. The best new Hot Chicken place!
- Jim NolanOctober 21, 2016If you like truly hot chicken I would start with the medium heat level at a minimum. The line can be long but it was worth the wait
- Benjamin SandersMay 14, 2015The chicken of corse is great, make sure to get something a little warm. The potato salad and mac and cheese are the best I've had.
- Tara BagelFebruary 16, 2017Ok so people are not lying it was so good! The hot was definitely hot, I highly recommend the coleslaw or potato salad to cool you off.
- Chelsea BalkanDecember 27, 2014#FabuLIST #DubiDO chicken tender platter with French fries, potato salad, and coleslaw. Hot is the perfect amount of spice. Must end the meal with their banana bread pudding.
- Sean MillerDecember 28, 2018Totally worth the wait! Tried the large white meat chicken plate (hot) with Mac n cheese + fries. So good!
- Travis StathamAugust 14, 2018Finally tried it. The line was long as hell and took ~40 minutes but the chicken was great, juicy and spicy.
- Scarlett Anderson🦄January 10, 2018I got medium, but next time hot! M plenty for my BF though! He got the tenders&I got the breast&wing. Both agreed mine was better! Mac&cheese...yumYUM!
- Lesley EspinosaJanuary 24, 2015Love the chicken strips! I will suggest trying the mild one, the HoT is too much and you won't enjoy the flavor that much!
- Nicolas KubickiJune 26, 2018The Hot Chicken Sandwich was amazing! Perfect combo of fried hot chicken, coleslaw and sauce. If you don't do carbs or bread, you can get the tender plate grilled!
- Travel + LeisureMarch 19, 2013This is the spot for fiery, cayenne-infused, Nashville-style deep-fried “hot chicken.” Cool your palate with a craft beer and pimento mac-and-cheese. More places to eat like a local: tandl.me/12ufz7c
- Becki FrieiefnfnMay 13, 2016Even the mild is hot! Crispy deliciousness, the greens have pork in them and the pimento mac n cheese is the tits!
- Polina WeitzSeptember 17, 2022This place is worth the hype. Loved the chicken, and they had great fries too. Medium spicy was perfect for us. Be prepared, the line can get really long.
- CoreyAugust 28, 2014First time here, and I ordered the tenders plate (mild) with baked beans and potato salad. The chicken, beans, and sweet tea are incredible! I WILL be back soon. =)
- Susanne TaylorSeptember 21, 2013Yummy! Medium had a great flavor and good burn. Hot was just right for the spicy people. Plenty of chicken on the bone and great sides. Staff was super nice. Get there early!
- BHDecember 20, 2015Damn hot chicken - as advertised. Very hot but edible. Chicken is so good that merely "hot" might be the better route, letting the flavor come through more. Mac and cheese was great. Fries were good.
- Billy AmpAugust 30, 2016The best fried hot chicken I've ever had in my life!!! I killed that chicken! Make sure it's hot baby! 🐥🔥
- Hudson SutlerJuly 19, 2017Hot damn—hot chicken. Hot chicken it’s a Nashville thing, sorta like the cheesesteak in Philly, but way more brutal on your GI tract. If you’re a virgin they’ll explain the spice options. Read more
