I met chimchurri for the first time here and was hooked! The skirt steak was so tender! I tried blood sausage for the first time...very flavorful and rich. You can't go wrong with this place!!

Yes the wait is long, get some snacks and cocktails at Whey Bar next door, the smoked lamb heart starter and clam chowder are decadent, I enjoyed the artichoke and short ribs with a glass of Malbec.

Ox's mouthwatering menu, where vegetable and seafood dishes like Rainbow Chard and Clam Chowder crowned with Smoked Marrow Bone are as satisfying as the tender Skirt Steak. Read more

2 hour wait on a Saturday night, ended up being worth it. Amazing steak, chorizo, crispy potatoes with horseradish, chimichurrri, we sat at the bar near the grill, loved it.

Though meat hitting the grill is the main focus, both veggies and seafood represent well in homey dishes like hominy stew and braised octopus. [Eater Member 38]

Skirt steak, fish, and mushrooms with liver. Sit at the bar or near the fire. A little expensive but very good. They have some kinda special red wine they make or source or whatever that's real good.

Sit at the grill for front row view of the action. Fried Terrine, Skirt Steak (a touch above medium rare), artichoke and blistered peppers. Cake and you are done.

Ways to spend a 2-hr wait? They do the brainstorming for you: grab a seat next to a stack of firewood at WheyBar for elite Portland cocktails. Once you're inside, ask what's coming off the wood grill.

Excellent: Stardust (whiskey cocktail), La Yapa (another whiskey cocktail), both types of empanadas, ribeye steak, Brussels sprouts, tres leches cake. Okay: chorizo, hominy.

Clam chowder is worth the hype. If you're a small party, you might be able to get a seat at the bar and avoid the longer wait

Everyone will recommend the Asado Argentino, but also be sure to start with a cheese board, and end with a Rabid Mastiff. Quite possibly the best restaurant in Portland.

Clam chowder and skirt steak is phenomenal. But for the real foodies, start with the grilled lamb heart with arugula. Yum.

Top 5 restaurant. Chowder is unreal. The simple skirt steak couldn't be more flavorful. Side of mushrooms and ricotta has been amazing. Too small a restaurant sometimes and grill smell lingers.

Yes, it's an Argentine steakhouse but oysters and the halibut (served seasonally) are worth sacrificing a night of beef for.

Definitely can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And if there's a long wait, the bar next door, same owner has some quality drinks. Also don't forget that amazing sorbet dessert.

Skip the Asado Argentino and just order the best meat on it: the skirt steak. (If you get the asado anyway they will do some substitutions.)

Don't be turned off by the prices -- the food is meant to be shared family style, and the portions are large. Oh, and everything will taste AMAZING.

The humble short rib terrine is small and unassuming but easily more delicious on its own than the last three meals I've eaten elsewhere.
