Der altmünchner Straßenname Platzl steht für die Platzähnlich erweiterte Straße im Norden des Marienplatzes. Den Namen gibt es seit mindestens 1780. Die bekanntesten Lokalitäten am Platzl sind wohl das Hofbräuhaus, das Platzl-Hotel und das Hard-Rock-Cafe.
