While you might have to wait for a seat, the linguine and clams, peel and eat shrimp, insane sashimis, shrimp toast, smoked trout with crackers, and mini lobster rolls fully justify the time spent. Read more

This behemoth of a fried chicken sandwich is a towering construction of audibly crispy and powerfully seasoned fried chicken, vinegary slaw, crunchy bread and butter pickles, and spicy mayo.

The country ham, honey butter, and hush puppies are a must have! My BF and I were near-tears upon our first taste of the beautifully sliced ham! Also be sure to check out their lovely cocktail menu!

If you only have one meal in LA, make it Son of a Gun. Go on the later side, ask for a booth, and try all the seafood dishes - especially the Leche de Tigre. Don't forget to make a reservation.

Really fun & scrumptious. Campy interior with an insane amount of nautical memorabilia tacked up on the walls. Can get a bit crowded & noisy but it has a great vibe. Very casual & the food is SUPERB!

Pig guts are manly, as Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo discovered at Animal. Seafood can also be manly, as at their Son of a Gun, as long as you get rid of the twee beurre blanc and court bouillon. Read more

The hamachi was amazing! The yellow fin tuna with avocado & crisps on the inside was very good too. The fried chicken sandwich wasn't the best I've had. Onion dip & cheese dip were ok.

There's fried decadence here, in the form of the much-celebrated, outrageously rich shrimp toast with Sriracha mayo and the even more celebrated fried chicken sandwich. Read more

Good ambience, decent food - with a touch of Asian-fusion and friendly staff. Portions are quite small, like a tasting menu. Quite pricey but worth a visit.

Not a seafood fan and found a vegetarian and a chicken option. The fried chicken sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Crispy with tangy cabbage and spice aioli. Don't ask for substitutions.

The fried chicken sandwich is delicious - not as heavy as I thought it might be. The breading is very light and flaky, and the flavors form an incredible mix!

Absolutely perfect meal. Get the fried chicken sandwich, linguine w/ clams & uni and the hamachi w/ grapes & oranges. Oh, and did I mention the New Zealand oysters? Outrageously good. All of it.

Walk-ins around 7pm are easy. If you want a table, apparently 1-2 week adv reservations are needed. 1) chix sandwich 2) blackened rockfish 3) clam linguine were my top faves!

If you can't get a rez, just roll in (early bird gets the lobster roll) and grab seats at the huge community table. Food is fresh, delicious, seasonal, and somewhat tiny but delicious and shareable.
