I loved the concubine noodles (and not just because of its name). In fact I liked this place so much I came back the next day because I wanted to see if it tasted as good as I remembered. It did
You will love it. Unique, delicious, and tiny as ALL hell so don't plan in eating in! Hehe. At least there's space for your dog outside...(The [N8] Spicy Hot Oil Seared Hand-Ripped Noodles is SPICY!)
Best destination for the food of the Chinese city of Xi'an in New York; try the chewy liang pi noodles or "lamb face" salad, all doused in their alluringly spiced, fiery house sauces.
Synonymous with comfort food and all things good for the soul. You can close your eyes and play order roulette because all of their savory dishes are amazing, even vegetarian options are outstanding.

The spicy and tingly beef in soup is delicious; very spicy, but the beef is really tender and tastes fantastic. The noodles are also great! (And they can reduce the spice if you want!)
Great food -- go for any of the spicy noodles or the cumin lamb "burger". Or get both, and still pay under $10. Not much seating though -- you'll have to take it to go during peak meal times.
First timers can't go wrong with N4/NS4(w/soup). Also they take spice very seriously, go with medium or mild. Last but not least wear a bib or bring a spare t-shirt! Things get messy #slurping

Oxtail soup reminds me of my moms homemade Chinese comfort food. If I were to open a restaurant it would be this. Authentic chinese food (beef noodle soup, oxtail) and old school hip hop playing
Noodles that don't leave you with a craving, but rather a hungering that you will spend the rest of your life seeking again. Can't go wrong with cumin lamb noodles (in or out of soup).
Do yourself a favor, skip the available cans of soda and instead opt for their homemade cold jasmine tea (sweetened or unsweetened)—it perfectly cuts the spice that a coke cannot handle. Read more
I think I'm the only customer that doesn't speak Chinese. That's a very good sign. This place is worth the trip and the wait. Cumin lamb and the dumplings are awesome!
It's safe to say you probably haven't had Chinese food quite like this. From a region that borrows flavors from middle eastern cuisine, everything is cheap and delicious! We recommend the cumin lamb.

The line can be unpleasant and the interior's austere, but it's famous for a reason. Skip the jajiangmian and get the classics, like the spicy cumin lamb noodles.
Prices have gone up since many of the reviews here were posted, but all dishes are still under $10. The N1 (spicy cumin lamb noodles) is tasty and comes in a thick layer of oil
One of our favorite go-to's for a cheap and spicy meal. Don't miss the lamb burger and refreshing cold-skin noodles. Beware when asking for items "spicy" - they don't mess around.
Hands down best noodles in the east village. Spicy cumin lamb noodles melt in your mouth. Get the tiger vegetable salad on the side for some fresh contrast
Try the Liang Pi "Cold-Skin Noodles": these bouncy and chewy "noodles" are made entirely of wheat flour and opped with seitan cubes and veggies. One of the popular vegetarian options at Choice Eats!
Try anything with the spiced cumin lamb. Either the burger or the spicy noodles are the best reason to come here. I only ever remember this place as "the lamb burger place"
Come on a weekday between noon and 1. I was in and out in 45 seconds, and there were a couple seats available. I'm still having heart palpitations from N1 - worth it.
Not for the weak-stomached. Spicy means spicy. Also lots of vegetarian options; try the liang pi cold noodles or chang 'an tofu. And be prepared to snatch a seat as soon as someone stands up.
The most understated item on the menu is the tiger vegetable salad. Celery, parsley and a cool vinegar dressing that compliments any of the other heavy-hitting items on the menu.
The noodles are chewily awesome and the different kinds have different spicing even though the names are similar. The soups are pallid by comparison, but the soft tofu and tiger salad are tingly good.
The Liang Pi "Cold Skin Noodles" are famouns for a reason. However, you should also try the Spicy & tingly lamb Face salad. It sounds weird, but the complex mix of spices makes it a can't miss.
