- Excellent wine list. Carne Asada, the bread, strawberry-rhubarb tart. You really can't go wrong. I went to the best tapas places in Barcelona looking for something better than Mas. Couldn't find it.
- Kyle ByeNovember 1, 2016Start with a wine flight to taste three rotating reds. Then move to the amazing tapas selection. The carne asada, bocadillo jamon, and shrimp dishes were all standouts.
- Kaylah HorneMarch 24, 2013Every time you eat here will be the best day of your life. Order a couple things at a time, and plan to spend at least 2hrs. Smoked tomatoes, dates, Serrano, carne, and all the seafood. Amazing.
- John BoyerMay 15, 2013Believe it. Or don't believe it. A sweet Sherry with apricot chèvre on toast dessert is mad crack. Tell me I'm wrong & I will diss your palate deficiencies so astutely that you will seek therapy.
- Sofia CaseOctober 29, 2011Bacon-wrapped dates and then some. And by some, I mean the carne asada, cheese plate, assorted pomegranate margaritas and a pitcher of sangria to split between fantastic friends.
- John LloydApril 27, 2013Mas is among the places one ought include it in a Best-Test list of C'Ville. Even if you get there early, plan to make an evening of it. Take time. Order batches, flights. Savor. Eat too much. Enjoy.
- Favorite place in Charlottesville. The empanadas, carne asada, cauliflower, and papas bravas are not to miss.
- Chrissy SmithNovember 28, 2015Ever changing, seasonal menu, but the classic 5 are: the dates, papas bravas, artichoke spread, shrimp, & carne asada. Awesome vibe, food, wine, & service.
- Kendall SmithMarch 1, 2011The Carne Asada is ridiculously amazing and is served w/delicious flatbread. That plus the sangria, gambas a la parilla, goat cheese&artichoke w/fresh-baked bread, empanada, and dates is perfection!
- Online ProducerApril 4, 2014Try the the gambas al' parilla, jumbo shrimp grilled in the shell and set off with garlic aioli and gray salt.
- Brittany JobesDecember 12, 2014Pro tip: sit on the couches toward the back while waiting for a table - they may serve you from there!
- Fun and has a killer vibe. Don't get mad if you can't get a table fast, it's a popular spot. Gr8 food and drinks (only place I know in town that uses fresh lime juice instead of sourmix 4 margaritas)
- AdamSeptember 8, 2012You haven't lived in any meaningful way until you've experienced MAS. It doesn't matter what you eat - you just have to experience it.
- Tim NowaczykAugust 21, 2012Best of C-Ville '12: Best Restaurant, Best Chef (Tomas Rahal). Runner-up: Best Restaurant Wine List, Best Outdoor Dining
- Noah KressAugust 16, 2011Get the empanachos. I've been to Spain and this did justice to their cuisine and then some. Absolutely incredible!
- Tim OuyangSeptember 2, 2012The artichoke goat cheese dip, carne asada, bacon wrapped dates, and lamb chops are essential.
- Sit at the bar and watch the chefs churn the food out. That, and the bocadillo.
- Bill Van NormanFebruary 6, 2016Uneven is how I'd describe Mas. Some things are great, like the bocarones, others not so much like the bravas.
- The large pitchers of sangria are amazing- they last forever and are easy on the pocket!
- Leslie DavidsonMarch 2, 2010Try their sangria, it's spectacular! Get there early or call ahead since it's small and seating is limited. Read more
- George MathewJune 10, 2015Service was awfull and do not know what everyone is talking about mas, no service, no presentation, no taste....
- Scott CrawfordJune 5, 2011Service was really bad. Made us very bitter. Thinking maybe they are a little arrogant.
