An Austin original, Houndstooth is a coffee aficionados paradise, dolling out a variety of fine espresso, pour over, house brew, expertly frothed cappuccinos, and a tasty variety of pastries.

The drinks are great (go for their rotating single origin espresso to mix it up) but the employees are what make Houndstooth special. Hands down the friendliest barista team in the city. 🏅

Sprudge “humbly” considers Houndstooth to be among the “the best multiroaster cafes in the United States." Excellent baristas & great service round out the argument that all the fawning is warranted. Read more

Summer heat calls for a Japanese iced coffee. Made as a pour-over. Really excellent, a little pricy (but if you get it to stay there's no sales tax!)

This place has the most exquisite expresso in town. It's worth the hassle of parking lot hell. Take a moment, sit down, and enjoy your cappuccino without distraction.

Soy latte is superb. Coffee is some of the best around. Some of their brewing hardware is just this side of art.

Definitely espresso snobs, you'll have a hard time ordering if you aren't a regular espresso partaker, the latte is good, would've been great with a sprinkling of real sugar

Ask for the Japanese style iced coffee on a hot day. The beans they'll be using is usually at the bottom of the coffee list. Super light, delightful, delicate and refreshing.

Not great if you need a lot of space to do work (small tables). Interestingly sourced coffee, but limited preparations. Clean, modern décor. Fine, but not a favorite for a long study session.
