- Josiah David ChapmanJanuary 26, 2018An Austin original, Houndstooth is a coffee aficionados paradise, dolling out a variety of fine espresso, pour over, house brew, expertly frothed cappuccinos, and a tasty variety of pastries.
- The drinks are great (go for their rotating single origin espresso to mix it up) but the employees are what make Houndstooth special. Hands down the friendliest barista team in the city. 🏅
- Andrew EllisonJuly 11, 2016Summer heat calls for a Japanese iced coffee. Made as a pour-over. Really excellent, a little pricy (but if you get it to stay there's no sales tax!)
- JenniferNovember 4, 2012This place has the most exquisite expresso in town. It's worth the hassle of parking lot hell. Take a moment, sit down, and enjoy your cappuccino without distraction.
- Levi CardinalMay 16, 2014Now this is the type if coffee shop I have been seeking in Austin. Highly recommended for serious coffee people and those who just like high quality coffee.
- SteveJanuary 3, 2015Soy latte is superb. Coffee is some of the best around. Some of their brewing hardware is just this side of art.
- Jil WrightJune 13, 2015Definitely espresso snobs, you'll have a hard time ordering if you aren't a regular espresso partaker, the latte is good, would've been great with a sprinkling of real sugar
- By far the best cappuccino in town! Try the Rustico coffee from Counter Culture.
- Jeremy HermannsJune 15, 2013Just like Handsome and Intelligentsia in Los Angeles - amazing pastries too (gourmet PopTarts, DingDongs and Twinkies) - also try the iced coffee
- Brandon KraftJanuary 28, 2020The staff is awesome with equally solid coffee. They do have oak milk and a great daily single-source bean to give you some variety.
- Ask for the Japanese style iced coffee on a hot day. The beans they'll be using is usually at the bottom of the coffee list. Super light, delightful, delicate and refreshing.
- Pedro Seguel VarasJune 24, 2018Amazing coffee options. The Japan iced coffee was delicious and the barista super helpful and insightful.
- Fantastic espresso and tasty chais. Get a tacodeli next door.
- Colin MansfieldNovember 11, 2014Friendly baristas, fresh coffee, and a warm atmosphere. Perfect for studying or just enjoying a good talk with friends.
- DelphineMarch 15, 2014They make an excellent cappuccino in both taste and presentation. It is a busy spot but worth the wait. Don't be tempted to get it to go!
- They make great coffee drinks. Stay and chat with friends or do a bit of work. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
- Lindsay MuncyOctober 8, 2012These guys make awesome coffee and the store is beautiful, but it's not the best atmosphere for studying. Come here for an afternoon with friends!
- Nix EOctober 9, 2014I can order a flat white and get a flat white without confusion. I love that they are passionate about the quality of their craft
- Will KivinskiJanuary 10, 2014I had an Americano from Counter Culture beans (San Sebastian.) The espresso was silky, smooth and slightly sweet!
- excellent coffee with some interesting concoctions for the adventurous coffee drinker. try the coffee julep!
- DeanApril 5, 2016Really interesting and flavorful beans here. Very distinct and well crafted coffee, if a bit pricey.
- Serious EatsMarch 5, 2013Spacious cafe with coffees from Cuvee, Intelligentsia, and rotating guest roasters.
- Alyssa PMarch 18, 2014Convinced their male baristas have to pass an appearance test. Not enough study tables, but wonderful coffee.
- Cooper GreenbergFebruary 16, 2014Great place. Fresh tasty coffee. One of the best coffee shops in Austin.
- The espresso here is so good you should go even if you need to fight a giant eagle (*) to get inside. (* presence of actual giant eagle is unlikely)
- MaddieSeptember 25, 2014Not great if you need a lot of space to do work (small tables). Interestingly sourced coffee, but limited preparations. Clean, modern décor. Fine, but not a favorite for a long study session.
- John BarbarianMarch 7, 2012For all you coffee freaks looking for a pour over, these guys do it right. Their imported beans taste just like coffee.
- Bar none best cup of coffee I've had in Austin. Ask for a pourover and drink it black.
- Leave yourself time to enjoy coffee brewed right. They brew each cup to order. It ain't quick.
- If they have any of the counter culture beans definitely get some.
- J Oscar PolancoNovember 6, 2013great coffee, but not really a sit down and read kind of vibe. more of a networking kind of place.
- Vanessa RoscoeAugust 4, 2013Don't argue with me. Get the #coffeebeerrepeat and make sure it's Japanese iced coffee.
- Tarah FeinbergMarch 9, 2011Get the "coffee ambassador" to tell you about the subtle flavors of the espressos. It's like ordering wine.
- Try the Espresso Doppio - Strong. Best in town sofar
