- Mike WinstonMarch 10, 2015This cute and very popular Capitola bakery is perfect for a homemade breakfast pit just off Route 1 for a drive between Monterey and San Francisco. Read all about it on WinstonWanders below! Read moreUpvoted 1 week ago
- Odile RoujolApril 12, 2021Chocolatine bread 🥖 Francese baguette British toast 🍞 and try everything! Long line on Sunday but well organized to respect self distancing
- Annie SouthworthAugust 5, 2012This place is amazing, delicious, friendly, efficient. A Santa Cruz classic and a must try. I highly recommend the Peking Chicken Wings, but the baked goods can't be beat.
- Mark SchoellJuly 20, 2016Highly Recommend Excellent service, great baked goods and food, fun artful atmosphere. I wish I could take them home!
- sohailJune 2, 2021The fried egg breakfast sandwich is really good! My wife said her breakfast muffin was also delicious. 10-15 minute walk from beach. There was a 10 minute line outside Gayle’s as well.
- Brian StraussSeptember 27, 2017Great pastries, quiche, and coffee. Line moves very quickly. #mtb Great spot for a post ride grind.
- Bernard PoggiDecember 31, 2018Everything I have had here at Gayles is great. From the breakfast to their lunch offerings. Everything is on point at quite an affordable price.
- Chanel CartierJuly 26, 2015Eat all the things! I love the caprice sandwich and the Mac and cheese. Get a loaf of bread sliced to go. It's great for the beach.
- Bernard PoggiDecember 31, 2018Make sure you enjoy their biscottis one morning with a nice big cup of coffee. Nothing like it!
- Michelle ParatoreNovember 20, 2012THE place to stop if you're driving home to the Bay Area and are hungry. Unbelievable selection. Too good to be true.
- We regularly stop by the deli and pick up sandwiches and salads for a picnic. Chocolate coma cookie is to. die. for!
- Lauren LangoneJuly 27, 2013Seemed like utter chaos and insanity amongst rows of glistening pastries...as long as you take a number they call you almost immediately...tasty napoleons and schneckens!
- Grab a number from the ticket machine as soon as you arrive! Know what you want and be near the register when they call your number.
- Lianne MSeptember 29, 2012Come for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Just make sure to take something home with you. Elephant ears are yummy as are the cheese twists!
- Vinny La BarberaJuly 31, 2017Went for the David's Cake but they were out. Got the key lime pie instead and it was perfect.
- M'Riah BoundsAugust 29, 2010Great coffee, amazing pastries, and fun, lively atmosphere. Grab a bite to eat and do a little shopping at one of the several adorable shops in the plaza (pacific trading co. is the best!)
- This is one of the best bakeries you'll ever go to. I've never had a better eclair.
- Elizabeth EttlemanSeptember 27, 2014The food here is amazing. I've worked here for about 4 months now and there's not 1 thing I haven't at least looooved.
- Christiona GoodspeedApril 20, 2015Good food but not the best ingredients. And in my experience cakes can be dry or lacking in flavor, specifically the chocolate, German chocolate, and the banana.
- Marinated chicken sandwich is amazing, the oilalaberry or 3 berry pie rocks as does the breakfast burrito and croissant!
- Dan ChavitageOctober 6, 2012When Gayle's is bursting with customers and your order is simple, don't bother taking a number to wait ten minutes. Go place your order at the sleepy coffee bar. Instant service! Tip them well!
- The seasonal Orange Chiffon cake is my favorite, Ollaliberry Turnovers for my husband. Breakfast burritos for the morning after, or any morning. Too much to list.
- Vickie ChandlerAugust 30, 2013What can you say about an incredible bakery and cafe. Enjoy the key lime pie.
- Try the Vegetable Polenta Casserole - One of my go to items here
- Deb LeamanOctober 20, 2011The carrot cake is Sooooo wonderful although it could put you in a diabetic coma if you eat the whole thing!
- Christiona GoodspeedApril 20, 2015Busy place with a large staff, most of whom are nice. Some maybe curt.
- Christopher BarkerJuly 15, 2012Try the Polenta - First time I've tried this and it did not disappoint. Going to have to learn to make this at home.
- I had no idea until I saw someone else do this, but tipping your servers is a great idea. They all seem to go the extra mile!
- Phil CarilloOctober 14, 2010Super crowded. Other than the busboy, I'm the only person of color here.....and the food is great! I keep coming back.
- Come early for yesterday's treats, much cheaper & still tasty.
