If you leave the station at the wrong exit, you won't be able to go back because of the ticket barriers. It's a long walk to get to the other side of the station, so plan ahead which exit you'll need.
If you have an off peak ticket and arrive before 8.50am, ask the barrier guard to let you through. The ticket will not open the barrier and you will look like an amateur!

Check with station staff where 'bus replacement services' leave from. Today it is @ the rear of the station adjacent to The Roundhouse. . The staff do not volunteer the information.
Members of the first class would do better to stay at The Midland Hotel, away from the workers and lesser folk who find a nights rest at The Brunswick Inn.
Need a cab? Follow midland road to the left out of station, 100yrds to Albatross taxis (opposite the post office). Loads cheaper than the yellow cabs right outside the station.
If you want to use the buffet between platforms 4 and 6 but don't want to buy overpriced food and drink, buy a cheap newspaper instead... Or the Private Eye.
