- Dominic TamJanuary 7, 2016The original New Shanghai (the others are in Chatswood). Don't miss the fried dumplings, shanghaiese noodle, mini wonton with prawn & mini pork dumplings. Sadly you will need to pay for the tea.
- Ashleigh JayneMarch 25, 2015I loved all the Dim Sim's, they are all worth a try! This place is great for a group so you can order heaps and share. The service was slow to begin with but the food came out fast.
- Dumplings are really, really good - the best we've had in the area. Crispy duck and braised pork are delicious as well.
- ✩ тony ѕ. ✩January 27, 2013Pan fried pork bun are excellent, 2 thumbs up! Curry beef soup with vermicelli are very nice too! I don't recommend cold dishes, not authentic at all! Services are great, I'll definitely go back!
- Johannes PauwJanuary 5, 2014Yep the Dumplings are good, but the mains are great too. Always a queue, so either arrive early (or prepared to wait) or beat the queues and order takeaway. Parking out front from 6.
- JAugust 2, 2020Love the noodles with crispy chicken - thin and silky smooth noodles. Pork dumplings are also great.
- Simeon ClerkeDecember 7, 2015They have recently put up prices a bit & started charging for corkage. Takes the gloss off the cheap bills you used to get here. Great dumplings still!
- Brad ChouAugust 25, 2013Excellent Shanghainese cuisine - we recommend the Xiao Long Bao (poorly translated to mini pork buns; actually dumplings), drunken chicken and pan fried pork dumplings.
- FeeApril 16, 2014I love the shallot pancake here. And obviously the dumplings. The drunken chicken was a big let down. 25% off (up to $25) with the entertainment book!
- Christine DuongOctober 26, 2015Xiao long bao soup dumplings and soft and crispy crab and pork pan fried dumplings 🙃🙃
- Marcus MooksApril 16, 2012big portions and food are tasty and nice, one chubby worker here is a bitch service is crap, dont speak much english, but great dumplings, sweet n sour pork ribs wasn't all that, cheap looking but good
- Drunken chicken to start. Pan fried and northern style pan fried dumplings are big winners here. The dumplings are great but the rest of the dishes are average. Stay away from the salted egg tofu.
- Christine LoJuly 19, 2015Best restaurant in Ashfield! Braised garlic eggplant, dumplings, ja jiang mien, taro milk tea
- Reg LMarch 26, 2011Dumplings are the popular choice here, but the Fu Jian fried rice is a great additional to have - tasty morsels of prawns and mushrooms and saucy goodness
- Order dumplings! some of the hot food is good but not everything... Read more
- Jenny LOctober 17, 2010Really don't rate this place too highly but it is value for money and the soup dumplings are probably the best in the west. Pan fried pork buns are also good! Not a fan of the noodles...
- Christopher KnightOctober 3, 2014Good prawn dumplings and beef fried rice. With the fresh garlic cucumber = awesome.
- Great northern Chinese cuisine. ... In great portion and price.... But service ain't so great. .. But that's Asian restaurant for you. ...
- The wooden chopsticks have more flavour than the noodles, dumplings are worth a try...
- Ellen LeeDecember 24, 2012Since the renovation, service is fast, cockroach is gone. Food is still good . The decor is very pleasant.
- Dian ParamitaJanuary 8, 2014Bring your own chopped bird eye chilli, peeps! They only have chilli sauce 😪
- BrendanAugust 9, 2016We ordered, got out Xaio Long Bao soon enough then sat for 45 minutes waiting for the rest of our meal. We ended up leaving and going next door which was much better and faster.
- Angela StengelOctober 4, 2010Excellent soup dumplings and salt and pepper tofu. Service is a little slow but worth the wait.
- Kim LeeMarch 21, 2010New shanghi pork mini dumplings (have soup in them) are great. Salt & pepper tofu and garlic cucumber are good too!
- Make an early booking before you arrive, so packedddddddd on weekends!
- First time I've come at 530pm - and the service is beyond atrocious!!
- New Year Cake with XO sauce and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings! (see photos).
- People will argue over were the best dumplings in Sydney are, but I find this place hard to beat. Read more
- Brad ChouAugust 25, 2013Typical Chinese restaurant service (below average by western standards) with better than average decor. Good food and fast!
- Lily WangFebruary 16, 2012Don't go there if u value your life. Still feeling nauseous from lunch meal of lamb dumplings. Seeing a cockroach crawling across the wall certainly didn't help!
- Service has been getting worse. Dumplings are great but try the place next door or across the road.
- LisaFebruary 3, 2011Always have to wait forever for the salted egg tofu! But the food is good and cheap.
- Rae MoAugust 4, 2012Worst service ever. 203 pan fried pork buns was burnt on the bottom and undercooked on top. The mushroom and pork wonton was ok but the soup broth it was in was bland.
