The menu includes duck, elk, wild boar-and the sauerbraten kicks ass. Sauerbraten rules! Parents: Ask to be seated in "The Pit," where your demon spawn won't bug diners noshing on Bambi's mom. Read more

Amazing spaetzle! Surprised this is in SoCal - Midwestern feel! Owner comes by tables to ask how you're enjoying your meal! Good service, solid food. Definitely a comfort-food German family hangout!

Possibly the BEST German restaurant in the Greater Los Angeles area! Authentic German dishes that are truly out of this world as well as excellent prices and service. The desserts here are the best!

Been coming here for the yrs & the decor has remained intact. The food is stick to yer bones good. Get the ribs cooked in sauerkraut. You won’t be sad & the serving is heroic.

The elk special was fantastic. I'd come here more but it's very heavy, carb intensive food. Oh and get the red cabbage.

I've never had a bad dish here. It has been open for 35 years and it's no wonder the place is still open. Never packed but it's a shame they are not.

Good: Cream spinach and any sausages. Bratwurst was a bit too strong flavor for me. Ok: Pan fried pork steak, rabbit, n spatzle. Very homey food. Very slow service.

Service was terrible. Staff friendly enough but everything took forever. We were there 2 hours. Not socializing, just waiting. Waiting for everything. Plus food was just mediocre! Egh!!!

Read positive reviews in Yelp. When I arrived, the place was nearly empty. When I tasted the food I realized why. Goulash suppe passable. Spetzle was horrible. Avoid at all costs!

Let down this trip, do not order the special valentines platter for two, not worth it, amount of food given for $50 is less than a single plate plus something about tonight, food was very bland.
