JamesAugust 13, 2023The gumbo is surprisingly good. NZ tends to have a lot of bland flavors accented by overuse of sauce. But this gumbo has kick and is authentic to what we get in the States. Well done Mother’s Kitchen!

Amir M.December 2, 2015I recommend the chicken basket with curly fries. The staff were friendly past time I was there. I prefer going there for lunch in the middle of the week since they are not very busy then.

Fried chicken. Slaw. Dirty Cajun rice. Gravy. Come here everytime I'm in Wellington. Never fails. :D
Tip for solo diners - if it's full, sit at the counter. It might not be as roomy as a table, but you'll never be short of a coffee.
