- One of my favorite coffee shops in town. Great espresso drinks and small selection of pastries. The downtown location is also a great spot for hanging out and enjoying a cup of joe.Upvoted Mar 9
- Lawrence TFebruary 28, 2014They don't only make amazing coffee, but also have a great business model. They're in it to make you the best coffee possible!
- Akaash SainiApril 24, 2012This is the "it" coffee roaster in America right now. The cafe and baristas are top notch! Their espresso is to die for! Not a fan of their brewed coffee. Roast is too light. (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
- C ReySeptember 27, 2022Some call it perfection, others call it Heart Coffee Roasters. I’m pretty sure every coffee drink and bag of beans has the potential to change your life. And they steam those alt milks like a boss!
- Luke BornheimerFebruary 4, 2014This shop is chill and makes outstanding espresso drinks. One of the more laid-back places in PDX. Best of all, it's down the street from Screen Door, one of the best brunch places in Portland.
- Andrew BennettJuly 22, 2015For Oregon, is probably the most scientific in their approach to roasting, and is this probably the 'best' roaster in Oregon. Their drip is also very dialled.
- Connie ChiuDecember 28, 2017Fantastic latte! Spacious and great vibe, though a little loud with the background music and chatter.
- CITY GRITAugust 1, 2014This is a coffee lover’s dream come true. Take a note from wine aficionados and order a flight to taste the distinct difference in their coffees!
- cami j.November 29, 2014the seasonal honey latte was delicious: not too sweet, and the espresso wasn't overpowered. the shop itself is beautiful.
- irishboyinlondonJune 14, 2013Really cool place with great coffee! The roaster proudly takes centre stage in the room and there is a really cool vintage map of Portland!
- ToryBurchJune 25, 2013We love small coffee brewers — known locally as microroasters — like Heart. The coffee is so smooth and flavorful that it barely needs milk.
- Virginie LiaoAugust 7, 2020Batch brew is always good here, ask for a bag of beans recommendation if you feel overwhelmed by their variety.
- adnammit !?!May 28, 2012Some of the best coffee in the city! Heart is best for socializing and book reading; leave studies and work for elsewhere as outlets are scarce and the wifi is sketchy.
- The seasonal Kenya Mirii is one of my favorite beans for cold brew.
- Zac SniderOctober 6, 2014They roast in the shop! A bar wraps around their probat which fills the coffee shop with the smell of coffee while their roasting.
- PhilipSeptember 19, 2016Great place to get a solid cup of great coffee or really amazing espresso drinks.
- Serious EatsSeptember 11, 2013Progressive, light-roasted coffee served in a sterile but friendly setting, roaster on site.
- RTWgirl ArnetteNovember 23, 2015Great coffee. Not my scene coffee shop wide so I just take out here.
- People must be high for this place to be so highly rated. $4.50 for a small cap. Espresso was bitter & acidic. Croissant was fine. PS $2 for an extra shot. TWO DOLLARS. You have got to be kidding me.
- Chris MessinaSeptember 24, 2013What to Order: Heart’s known for its espresso, which it makes in a volumetric Spirit espresso machine.
- Ros HodgekissJuly 29, 2013This is the little coffee roaster that could. Super-cozy interior and a very happy cup is made.
- They've got a darn yummy spiced chai! This place is my go to when I'm in town!
- Zack JeromeOctober 5, 2014Despite the name, they don't actually sell hearts here. Or any other organs. Try the bi-monthly PDX Black Market instead.
- Jacob WuertzAugust 23, 2019Gorgeous little shop with the espresso to back it up. Outlets were scarce here.
- Schlomo RabinowitzDecember 5, 2014I think most people here need a hug. Also: nobody should toast in front of people; its unseemly!
- Begrudgingly a neighborhood favorite. I just wish things weren’t so expensive.
- David ShefchikJune 7, 2015The staff is snooty and they turn their wifi off on the weekends. Thanks a lot.
- Bring a container and try to get them to sell you beans by the pound. Sometimes it works! The more people do this, the better, because their bags are icky plastic.
- Heart is awesome. They now offer almond milk! Little pricey but a great alternative!
