- Joris van GelderMarch 14, 2015Nice to sit at the bar and to let the waiter serve you the tapas menu. Best tortilla i've tasted. Lot of tourists nowadays - like me :-) best chance to get a spot when you come early for lunch at 13hr
- Reshmi VadakelFebruary 1, 2013Amazing authentic Catalunya/tapas food. Be adventurous and let the entertaining waiters create a menu on the fly for you. Also, order a glass or two of the Cava wine. You can't go wrong here!
- I've been here almost 6-7 times and my final favorites list includes vongoles, tortilla and the white fish. Try not to eat so much before the fish, cause it is the best of all.
- TugbaJanuary 20, 2014Its a "must"place before you leave Barcelona, let waiters direct you to choose tapas! Great service and food!Try cava and house wines.. Its not too much expensive if you dont have a main course.
- Alèxia SoléFebruary 14, 2015Small mediterranean rest. where the idea is to share dishes, so you can ask for a half dish in order to try a LOT more things. The quality is xecellent, but it's always overcrowded. It's worth it!
- Jennifer HaackJune 20, 2019Fantastic tapas and super nice staff. Show up right at 7pm when they open (an prepare to wait). They also have a restaurant in the back if you don’t want to sit at the counter.
- ShelovaJuly 4, 2017Omg , food is so good here. Loved the razor clams, Vongole, steak and the mille-feuille is to die for!!! Service is excellent.
- Lana KawasmiApril 9, 2018Everything is just amazing! Best tapas ever! Monk fish, fried artichokes, etc.The service is amazing! Everything about it is just fantastic, loved it! It’s a must in Barcelona
- Halle FarajFebruary 22, 2019An institution for a reason, order the clams, tortilla, fried artichoke if in season (dip it in the clam sauce), the steak and patatas and the white fish bake. Yum yummy!
- AnnaJanuary 6, 2017Excellent food although there is equally good food to be had in BCN for less money. Try the seafood dishes. It's in every guide book, so the lines are aalways long.
- Duygu Delikanli YelkenJuly 5, 2013You must eat the fried peppers and fried baby squids, and also try creme catalan for dessert, it's a bit pricy and you wait about an hour at the line but worth it :)
- Alfred M.March 4, 2018Best meal you’ll eat in Barça! Eating at the bar seems fun, but we had an amazing dinner in the back. Staff was perfect!
- David AlexanderDecember 18, 2013This was a cut above the other 'tapas' places we tried locally. Not cheap but the fillet steak dish (€10pp) was amazing. Oh and they serve beer by the pint which is a winner.
- BachFebruary 24, 2014A little bit expensive but it worths this great experience. Sitting on a bar stool, some improvisation by the waiters, great taste of food. You'll be shaking hands when you're leaving.
- Jack GashiJuly 10, 2014Sit at the bar, tell the waiter if you prefer seafood or meat (seafood), order a white wine and enjoy. Its the type of meal you hope to have when abroad in a foreign country.
- Burak TezelJanuary 9, 2016What U eat in Cal Pep stay in Cal Pep 😎 Amazing seafood with the smell of sea. You must try tuna tartar!
- NevermoreJuly 24, 2013One of the most known tapas spots in BCN.Its reputation goes largely behind the city wall and it's justified.Nothing to say just that you have to be there once otherwise you don't know what tapas are.
- James TiltmanSeptember 13, 2014Let them tell you what is good. They'll recommend what's freshest that day. Baby squid and chickpeas was amazing!
- Gozde HeperAugust 3, 2016You don't get a menu and the waiters decide what to serve according to your likings. Sea food tapas were amazing. But sausage with beans was too aromatic for me. The prices are quite high
- Danielle BoudreauJanuary 9, 2017Best. Meal. Just go. Put yourself in the hands of the servers, and know that you can't go wrong! We loved the green peppers and the sole in particular.
- Esther AssaadAugust 28, 2016This place is a must! They only take ressies for 4+ in the back, otherwise worth the wait for a bar seat!
- Eigil MoeOctober 1, 2015Cal Pep is without any doubt one of the best places to visit in Barcelona. There is no menu. The food is marbles and the atmosphere too
- Luke WhiteJune 13, 2015Try the cuttlefish with garbanzos and razor clams. Or just ask them to bring what's fresh. Possibly the best meal I've had in Barcelona.
- Dan PericoneJuly 16, 2013Go for lunch you have a better shot at getting a seat at the counter. Make sure you get the monk fish it's awesome.
- dbeachNovember 11, 2014Can't go wrong with anything you are served... bit pricey, but the best tapas in the city by far. Worth the wait in line.
- Mai VuMay 31, 2016If you don't want to wait, make sure you are there at least 15 mins before opening and stay in the line 😁 the food is definitely worth it 👌🏼
- Nadouj B.March 17, 2017Fried Green pepper, octopus and rib eye steak with potatoes are the best tapas I had.
- The TelegraphMay 21, 2013Day two - 2pm: Cal Pep (Plaça de les Olles 8; 0034 93 310 79 61; calpep.com) is known for its super-fresh seafood tapas. It pays to book ahead. From around £15.
- Hasan SheikhOctober 27, 2016Let them do their thing and bring you whatever is fresh and delicious. You will not be disappointed. Octopus was spectacular.
- Athena ChangSeptember 8, 2012Best tapas in bcn! Get the fried peppers, fried baby shrimps, tuna tartare, and definitely their creme brulee and this amazing honey rum cake!
- Ivan KrovyakovSeptember 18, 2013By far the best tapas experience I've ever had! Never even imagined that plain fried squids could be AS delicious... Must visit it again.
- Serhat TuranJune 12, 2013Just sit in front of Pep and tell him what you like! Barcelona'ya gelip de buraya gelmeyenin dilini tayyeap isirsin!
- Elena FMay 23, 2013You have to wait in line forever and then the waiter simply asks you what types of things you like. The seafood was perfect with cava and the bustling atmosphere was picture-perfect Barcelona.
- NesOctober 31, 2012Tell the waiter whether you like seafood or meat and let him bring you the delicious tapas and just enjoy! it's relatively expensive but it worths!
- Ofir WeinstockJuly 21, 2020Amazing seafood, top service! Clams were amazing and the tuna tartar so fresh and yummy!

- Hotel Duquesa de CardonaOctober 31, 2012We recommend this tapas bar a lot for some reasons: Cal Pep is nearby our hotel, and offers a great variety of tapas with lots of intention!
- Ian EichmannMay 23, 2012Try to arrive early, it gets really crowded or if possible reserve a table (at least two weeks in advance). Don't miss the tuna-tartar.
- Max GareauJanuary 12, 2016Their reputation holds up. Best clams I've had in my life. The tortilla was also the best I'd had in Spain .
- Dilara AlemdarSeptember 13, 2014The authentic tapas bar is nice but that's it. everything is adequately tasty, wasn't impressed as a chef! domates sürülmüş ekmek mi? Patates ve domatesle balık nedir? Pep needs to step up his game..
- Anders TheutSeptember 16, 2017Great for fresh seafood, good ideas and good atmosphere. Expect to wait in line for 30 minutes
- NesOctober 31, 2012The place opens at 13:00, but is closed on Sunday. Even if you arrive around 12.40, you find a long queue in the entrance. But it absolutely worths!!
- Andy PhilpDecember 10, 2013Great food but you must eat your clams a particular way otherwise you get abused by staff :) Slurp them! Slurp them!
- Meri's FoodApril 1, 2017Already very well-renowned place, but worth the visit for their tapas and fish.
- Wenyan ZhangJuly 7, 2015Good tapas in a popular location, small environment but friendly, a bit more expensive than I expected, however the food are all tasty.
- ChatChowTV Giovanny GutierrezDecember 13, 2012Get there 15-30 minutes before they open. It's worth the wait.
