- Behrad EatsOctober 20, 2014Shamshiry is a long-standing Persian restaurant serving consistently good kabobs. I like to try various kabobs so I get a combination of kubideh, jujeh and barg kabobs. Don't forget to ask for tahdig!Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- Sarah BehAugust 24, 2015This joja kabob is my favorite! There are 2 dishes that aren't halal, otherwise the rest is amazing and very tasty Persian cookingUpvoted Feb 25

- AlharithOctober 18, 2019I ordered the chelo Kabob Shamshiry, its basically two dishes combined the Kubideh & the borg. I strongly recommend that you order the Chelo Kabob Kubideh as it was far better & tasted excellent.
- farnazJanuary 3, 2021All kind of its Kabob are good enough that I want to go there every week. Because of pandemic I order Soltani chelo Kabab by phone and then ride myself to pick it up. The tase is fantastic as usuall
- Marwan MzMay 31, 2019You cannot go wrong with any order. I recomend Chelo Kabab, Soltani Kabab and Shabzai is good but the Yogurt is MUST.i been visiting this restaurant since 2012 and the quality still the same AMAZING
- Essa SharafOctober 19, 2013Don't think of getting good service but the food is the best Persian food in the area. Jooja Kabab with salad is my favorite. And u will never go wrong with the chelo kabob .
- AliMarch 10, 2013As authentic as it gets, with all the goods and bads! But the Sabzi is actual Persian vegetables, and the bread is real Noon. Barbecued tomato is very good. Kabobs are all authentic Persian kabob.
- It is always crowded. And I don’t like the vibe and design at all. The food is ok with huge portions of rice! I recommend to share. Nothing to special or fancy. Ordinary meal with friends or family.
- Yong KwonFebruary 2, 2016Get ready for delicious meat products on sticks with a mini mountain of rice. Ask for the egg yolk and shove away!
- Nouf AlothaimDecember 1, 2018The price of eating is good and the quantity is excellent taste delicious my favorite dishes shamshiry sultani
- Liane BanseSeptember 16, 2016The kubideh kabob did not disappoint. It was seasoned and grilled to perfection. They served 2 strips of meat with only a 1/2 grilled tomato, not enough for me but easily fixable.
- Mazanin FNovember 17, 2015A lot of food for a reasonable price. This place is always packed, even at 3-4pm! Their shallot yoghurt is amazing!
- Ahmad TariqOctober 28, 2018They serve delicious food. Starting with hummusthen having kabob kubaideh and finish it with their Persian tea. They take 18% gratuity but most of the time they don’t give a good service.
- Jacob RosenbergNovember 19, 2015Authentic Persian kabob. Get the Shamshiry and add a rice. It's so worth the food coma.
- Nitin AlaburJuly 22, 2013Heard of the phrase "juicy succulent kebabs"? Those, are available here. Rice in the entrée is probably enough for 4 people! Wonder what took me so long to discover this place. Service wasn't an issue
- It's one of the best Persian restaurants in al DC, don't miss the Kabab Sultany.
- Borzou AzabdaftariOctober 13, 2014Get the garlic yogurt and ghormeh sabzi and tahdig to start. Then your favorite meat and rice. Skip the bread, you'll need the space.
- Raha D.September 10, 2019Everything is avarage, the food the service the enviroment etc. if you like “hot” stuff, I suggest trying the green dip from the welcome bar.
- Stefan GlomazicJune 22, 2017I had the salmon. Delicious, juicy, tasy, goes so we'll with the Dill rice. The grilled 🍅 was ripe and fragrant, just a great meal.
- The rice is amazing! I live in Richmond and I come to DC all the time just for Shamshiry. Wowwww the rice. Wow! Sorry, I can't stop thinking about the rice.
- Rachel PJune 10, 2016Fluffiest rice ever and sooooo much of it! Kabobs we tried (chicken tandoori and Cornish game hen) were awesome too.
- Washingtonian MagazineNovember 22, 2011The stars of the menu are the generous entrées, particularly a spicy, cilantro-rubbed chicken tandoori kebab. The juicy ground-beef chelo kebab kubideh impressed with its meatloaf-like flavors.
- No NameJune 19, 2015Its way too heavy, so only go here if you intend on going into a coma right after. Chicken is good, heavy. Zereshk polo is good. Must eat with onions, and yoghurt with cucumber. Portions are gigantic.
- Sarah JaneJuly 21, 2012Best tadek ever! Salmon kabob is delicious! Oh and the koreshes' like Madar Joon (grandma) used to make for me when I was a young 1/2 Persian girl.
- I always craves their saffron ice cream😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 kebab is sooo goood and secret tip add butter w the rise 😉
- Chris BuckleyApril 9, 2012This place is awesome and the staff is super friendly. We lost a phone here and luckily an employee found it and returned it. We are so grateful. Eat here.
- Haider MohammedSeptember 24, 2017It’s my best restaurant. They’re serving a very clean and delicious food . The price is so suitable at all
- Rashid KhazeinasabNovember 30, 2021Barg kebab, koobideh, and shishlik are great. Hope they provide the basil and cheese as appetizer.
- DK DavisAugust 21, 2010CHELO Kabob! I try to dine here every time I visit the Greater DC Metro. Order the "tadig" (crispy rice), not on the menu...if you've never eaten it, order it...trust me you'll love it!
- Randy SistoJune 7, 2015Kebabs, lamb, chicken and beef. Rice with egg yolk mixed in. Awesome. Huge portions.
- Kevin WatsonJuly 20, 2017Tahdig is a must, ask for different toppings with it like the sour cherries
- Ajit VergheseMay 12, 2014Best ghormeh sabzi I have ever had. Not on the menu. But order it. Trust me.
- Great Persian place I have going here for years. My only advice is the food is amazing when it's fresh, don't try to save for later, it loses it's flavor.
- Baqer JeryoSeptember 23, 2017Fascinating every time. Had the Qima super balanced meal with a real Mediterranean taste
- AliMarch 10, 2013If you are not middle eastern, portions are way too big for you! You need to ask for a box to that half of each meal home!
- Always the best Persian food in D.C. area! And I'm an expert in persian food!
- Sarah BMarch 16, 2016As a vegetarian I couldn't find myself at this restaurant I ordered a delicious lentil soup and mastokhyar. Their Okra sucks! lack of variety for vegetarians.
- しほ👓 👵👽March 11, 2015The flavor of meat is great: the seasoning and the quality of meat they use must be good.
- So good for familys with great food but must be SO hungry first! Yum kabob
