- Allen ArcadeAugust 25, 2012The Grim Burger has just been bumped up to $9.25 for the 1/3 lb of juicy beef with jalapeño, bacon, and macaroni & cheese. It is a beast. My only wish for this is to use fresh grilled jalapeños.
- The South of the Border Burger is more than what it promises to be. Here's the beef in case you were asking. Buns are perfection. The cilantro sauce sends it over the top w/just enough kick!
- Erik CintronApril 15, 2018Just burgers and beer.it was decent nothing out of this world big and messy the simplicity is the magic of things. It has cheap food and beer. The waitress is sweet and so is the host. Outside dining
- Michael CalderoneJanuary 23, 2015You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are the veggie burger for a healthy option or the firehouse burger.
- Allen ArcadeAugust 25, 2012The Greek burger is surprisingly good. It's the 1/3 burger with feta, olives and spinach. The olives used are terrific.
- Christy LandesDecember 13, 2014Cash only. come early or late to get a table. Great burgers: a single with cheese was a 5 napkin affair. Fries are not as good as rings... Great outdoor tables.
- Allen ArcadeAugust 25, 2012The standard 1/3 burger is legit. Solid with little to improve on. The buns have the taste and consistency similar to the ones at Three Brother's Bakery.
- Randy ShumateMarch 5, 2015The burgers here are quite good. They are large and juicy. Also they grow all of their own vegetables behind the restaurant.
- The #firehouseburger w/a Yuengling Lager & tater tots!!
- Houston PressAugust 4, 2014Run by head cook and surrogate mother Eydie Prior, Montrose's Lankford Grocery may be the homiest restaurant in the city. Read more
- DaveMarch 16, 2013If Mcdonalds is who you consider serves a good burger, this place isn't for you. If you want a delicious pile of juicy madness that oozes down your arm as you eat it - this is where you need to go.
- Evan[Bu]December 9, 2011The Grim Burger has everything that you could have ever asked for on a burger! Unfortunately, it's probably the #1 cause of obesity among middle-aged Texan adults. Enjoy!
- Cathal KeaneAugust 25, 2014Chiliheads, do you think you can handle the Firehouse? If you're into the type of spice that causes leakage in your nose and a change in your breathing patterns then this bad boy is for you.
- Pamela GleesonJune 2, 2010A step back in time. Great ambiance of a period. Wonderful salsa and chips, old fashioned burger, great fries and onion rings, very good comfort Mexican food , large portions, great prices.
- AndrewSeptember 29, 2015I had the patty melt. It wasn't super amazing, but it was pretty solid as far as patty melts go. Cash only is really dumb though.
- FuzrJanuary 3, 2014If you like Spicy then try the firehouse burger. It is habanero paste, chili powder and jalapeños! Amazing but so so hot!
- Courtney JillFebruary 28, 2016Classic burgers. They've been doing this for ages & they've got it down.
- Chadwick 😎October 6, 2012Try the pimento cheeseburger with bacon - The Pimento Cheeseburger (+ bacon) at Lankford's: So messy, yet so delicious.
- Craig ThompsonDecember 18, 2014All the burgers are great. The Grim burger is the best I've had so far.
- Israel Reynoso MollinedoJuly 4, 2014Excelentes burgers al puro estilo texano. Classic with cheese and bacon... delicious.
- Stephen GilmoreJuly 11, 2013Amazing!!! You definitely have to go on Wednesday's for the enchiladas they are the best in Houston!
- Awesome burgers. Cheap beer. Breakfasts are the best though. Remember they close early.
- The Tex-Mex is a great alternative to french fries. (and the jalapenos aren't hot at all)
- George NassarDecember 30, 2014Solid burger. Hand-formed patty - actually a minus when they're rushed; can be very uneven (and cook unevenly). Bun is a weak point.
- sam ruizAugust 17, 2011Great firehouse burger, hot and spicy! Add bacon to any burger you get from here. Onion rings are great! *********CASH ONLY********
- Lunch is good; breakfast is better. This is definitely NOT a fancy pretentious place. The only thing that will impress you is the food.
- Andres BernalMarch 13, 2012awesome burgers I like the red white and blue. giant breakfast tacos and great huevos rancheros
- chris lawlessFebruary 16, 2011The Wednesday special, Beef Enchilada Dinner, is amongst the best I have ever had. But don't tell anyone! It gets sooo crowded.
- Last tip: don't wait for your check. When you're finished, remember your table # and go to the register. BTW: they only take cash. No credit cards.
- Get the Grim burger. 1/3 lb beef patty, bacon, jalapenos, fried egg, and ... mac & cheese. Yes. Mac & cheese. Don't count on being productive at work after this bad boy.
- Kirk KilpatrickNovember 15, 2011Been a while since Hubert was here, Grim burger is now $9.25 but still delicious!! Btw onionrings are extra ;-)
