- Indie cinema, dance shoes and Open mic etc Upstairs at Ritzy. A must! Get your membership card and use it for discounted cinema tickets and ten off in bar and restaurant!
- ᴡ HayAugust 15, 2014Nice bar on the balcony upstairs. The cinema itself is characterful and often has special guest screenings. The high ceilings contribute to a considerably grander experience than your usual multiplex.
- Book online in advance to avoid the queues. Then just walk up to the screen door, show the e-ticket on your phone & head straight in. Oh and don't tell anyone but the upstairs bar has a cool balcony.Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- meganMay 19, 2015Fun, retro movie theatre with two bars and a restaurant. Get the burger, don't be a n00b.
- Daniel WallaceAugust 20, 2014Lovely old cinema where you can get a beer and watch a great film. Staff are really friendly too. Highly recommended
- Alexandra L.January 28, 2015My favourite cinema in London. Well worth the membership to enjoy films here as often as possible!
- Si BayJune 10, 2012If you go before 5pm on Wednesday and use a orange Wednesday code it works out that you can see a film for about £3.50p which is value for money at any time.
- Evening StandardMay 14, 2012The Ritzy marries comfortable theatre-feel screening rooms and a chilled out bar/cafe to great effect. Expect a healthy mix of box-office hits and European independents. Read more

- Dan CunninghamMarch 1, 2014Brilliant cinema, I love it. Watch out for the "popcorn police" - you're not allowed to bring in food and drinks from outside!
- Beauty SoulNovember 16, 2012I love this cinema. I don't get to go as much as I used to but it is always a joy. Great cafe and bar too.
- Tânia MartinsMarch 20, 2015The early sessions are the best, because you can have the whole cinema for yourself! They do Orange Wednesday!
- Brilliant local cinema with a great community spirit. Try any film in screen 1.
- Richard GregoryOctober 14, 2010Recommended: Stay in the picture with Ritzy cinema's monthly film and event magazine programme at http://picturehouses.co.uk. It highlights the best of what's on each month at your local cinema. Read more
- Xavier BrinonSeptember 8, 2011The best destination for film geekery. We've enjoyed some of Edgar Wright based fun here. Food is amazing too. Brixton Oval, Coldharbour Lane, SW2 1
- Perhaps one of the best independent cinemas in London. But even if you're crazy enough not to enjoy films, you can still find good music and food at the Upstairs Bar.
- Steve ChambersNovember 23, 2014Lick froyo available on the concessions stand. Strawberry and elderflower flavour. Classy place, right?
- Support independent movies and movie theatres, choose quality over quantity. And turn off your phone
- Phil WaughOctober 19, 2012Best cinema in London charming and well priced. Collect your tickets from the self service dead easy
- Ross GroomJanuary 2, 2018Nice little café attached to the cinema if you need to hang around beforehand.
- Andrea GambadoroAugust 26, 2014The room 1 is quite beautiful. I do like also having a drink at the upstairs bar.
- Solidarity with all Ritzy workers currently in dispute with Picturehouse cinemas for a living wage.
- Michael KalmanOctober 6, 2013My fave place London to see films. For now and not too much longer its my local too
- Awesome food, a great place to hang out with your mates, and a cool cinema.
- Support Brixton Ritzy cinema workers & their campaign for staff to earn the London Living Wage.
- Benjamin HobsonJanuary 29, 2010Every Friday - 'big scream' at 11am. Babys and mums only! Very funny to see a car park filled with prams! Lovely cafe attached, nice cakes, happy staff.
- James MooreJuly 6, 2011Miles better than a bog standard Odeon. Get there early and have drink in the live Jazz bar before the film.
- Two bars. Sunny? Head upstairs, decked terrace overlooking refurbed square!
- Become a member; if you see only 3 or 4 films per year you've already made your money back.
- Andrew SmallwoodAugust 28, 2012Scale 3 flights of steps to get to the rooftop bar. No cinema ticket needed
- Screen one is beautiful especially if you get to go on a weekday when it's quieter. Be cautious when ordering breakfast...I'm avoiding their poached eggs.
- Rob ClarkMay 17, 2011The staff give honest reviews of the films, so be sure to ask before you buy the ticket :0)
- Jonathan WaddinghamJanuary 24, 2012Get yourself membership - only need to go a couple of times a year to save money
