- Norman McLeodSeptember 14, 2013One of my top ten London pubs. How they can maintain the atmosphere of a local in the very heart of London I'll never know, but they do and it's a nice place for a pint.Upvoted Mar 31
- London Symphony OrchestraSeptember 16, 2011Distinctive traditional pub, rumoured to have been the Savoy Hotel's coal cellar. Gilbert and Sullivan performed here. Head down to the basement where it's a bit quieter.
- Adrian DentJanuary 8, 2016Nicholsons Pale Ale was great; a smile and conversation from the barman would have been better after I asked which beer was good.
- NinaMay 26, 2013Pilsner urquell on the tap is delicious and also try the downstairs bar if upstairs is full
- Kaushik BhattacharyaFebruary 8, 2014I can't respect a pub where the bar staff, when asked "do you have any porters on tap?" respond by asking "what's that?"
- Karen DDecember 22, 2010My fave pub. Great history and lovely little area called the Wolf parlour (shame the fire doesn't work). The Burger is fantastic.

- Steve PiehlMay 26, 2012The ladies in our group absolutely love the Rekorderlig Strawberry Lime Cider.
- LondonistJanuary 7, 2011If the bar is crowded (as it often is) there's a large basement bar worth trying.
- Annie HallMay 6, 2012Appalling - £5.95 for a pre-mixed bloody Mary consisting of a bottle of spiced tomato juice and a splash of Worcester sauce which tastes awful. The positive - they exchanged the drink.
