Can't go wrong here. Grab a bar seat & leave it in the hands of the capable chefs. The flavorful black throat fatty snappy, buttery Hakkaido uni & best o-toro anywhere are absolute must haves.

The fish used in Azabu’s seafood platters is shipped from Japan, then sliced into dishes like Shime saba. Sushi Azabu’s subterranean ambiance creates an experience unlike anywhere else in the city. Read more

Michelin one star, good selection and authentic sushi. I would recommend the omakase and follow their fresh taste of the day to make the most of your tasting experience!

Come with your +1. Ask to sit at the sushi bar. Make sure one of you gets the uni tasting. Get a bit tipsy and soak in the experience.

My very first omakase. Nice small intimate space. Very tradtional, super fresh...especially the tuna, sea urchin, and salom roe. Excellent service. The heated toilet seat was pretty awesome too.

Call in 2 weeks ahead for reservations. Neck to neck with Yasuda, but Azabu edges out on the rice this time. Chef's omakase is a must. Uni from Hokkaido is the sh!t, so don't bother with Cali uni.

This stealthy sushi shrine—tucked away in the basement of Greenwich Grill—attracts solo diners who happily hobnob with the talkative chefs while popping exceptional nigiri morsels into their mouths. Read more

Very expensive. Avoid the Uni Tasting. The Local Uni (Santa Barbara) was better than the Japan Uni from northern Hokkaido. The Wagyu Steak was excellent. The King Crab (pictured) was good.

Head to head to Yasuda, definitely worth the money! Make a reservation for Omakase and enjoy every single bite! Also try the apple sorbet as dessert ! Awesome!

Inside the Greenwich Grill is another restaurant hidden within. Head for the waiter station, swish through a black curtain and descend the stairs to a secret sushi den. Reservations are required.

Order the Bakudan-Nattō topped with a quail egg, with homemade soy sauce and scallions. It's a local's favorite!

Very uneven service and food. Far from the best in NYC. I would settle for sometimes the best below 14th St, but not reliable enough. Not much competition in Tribeca.
