- EaterOctober 7, 2013The essential Vancouver Izakaya experience. Get there at lunch to score one of the Deluxe Bento Boxes (only 10 made each day) to try a whole heap of absolutely everything. [Eater 38 Member]
- Amy GraffNovember 11, 2014From beef hot pot to pressed sushi and unique tempura veg (try the cauliflower!), this lil' ikazaya does it right. Modern, rad service that bends backwards to accommodate dietary needs, cheap saké.Upvoted 2 days ago
- Danny BrownApril 22, 2015Wow. Medium sake + deep fried prawns + negitoro + green tea gelato. A gourmet, 3-course meal with top-notch presentation for ~ $40 CAD including tip. The waitress ran to the door to say bye as I left.
- StevenJanuary 18, 2016My favourite place in Vancouver BC. Dishes are fairly priced and very tasty. I come here regularly. It's better to make a reservation even for lunch unless you show up right after they open.
- Christine Kneeshe-duhDecember 29, 2015Seriously the best sashimi I've ever had. Negitoro gunkan was amazing!!! This is a place I plan to make a part of every trip to Vancouver.
- Shawn ParkinsonAugust 7, 2014This is currently my #1 spot in Vancouver. It's all good, even miso soup is amazing. Chicken Karage Lunch Bowl. Try the beef rib for dinner, it might be one of the best things I've eaten.
- Chieko BonnaAugust 1, 2016Best authentic Japanese restaurant in Vancouver for sure. Loved their special lunch box which you need to call 4-5 days in advance to reserve. Only 10 boxes in a day.
- Seijung ParkMay 26, 2019Almost everything was good! Yuzu tataki was really good. Skip the tofu agedashi. It’s one of the better ones I’ve had but still think there’s better items to order like the black cod.
- @JaumePrimeroSeptember 1, 2013This little izakaya in West Vancouver totally took me by surprise. Order the "My-Ebi Mayo." Awesome. Wash it down with the house hot sake.
- Fernanda InomataDecember 29, 2015At lunch you must arrive at 11am to vet a Deluxe Bento Box. It worth it! They serve only 10 units per day!
- Order the deluxe bento box. Great value at $16! But it's only available for lunch. And they only make 100 orders per day and they usually sell out. You can order it over the phone though. ;)
- Tom CoatesAugust 11, 2018All the food is good. Some of it is delicious - particularly the black cod. Strongly recommend you order in stages as they will bring everything out quite quickly.
- Vivian LeeApril 17, 2019Very good Japanese food. Great quality. Decor inside is nice. Servers are friendly. Matcha creme Brûlée was delicious.
- Agatha YuOctober 16, 2015Lunch sets are amazing. Try to get in early for their 15 pieces lunch set (only 10 per day)
- Martin HellströmJuly 27, 2019Quite a locomotion inside for one to sit and observe. Food is what you can expect from a place like this - excellent.
- Aidan HornsbySeptember 28, 2014Incredible sushi, sashimi and great food all around, plus generous portion sizes. But, don't expect the decor or atmosphere of a truly traditional izakaya.
- Marites MartinMarch 27, 2014Watch out! They give a lot of food. Normally sashimi you get 3 thin slices, here you get 7 thick slices! Normally sushi you get 2 small ones, mouthful. Here you get 6 big ones! Not complaining!!
- G MApril 11, 2013Best service!!! I didn't know the lunch and dinner menus were different but they let me order a lunch dish anyway! The negitoro bowl is the best!
- Gillian SheFebruary 27, 2020It’s very high quality Japanese food with reasonable price! Bento set is limited for 8/10 sets!
- TingAugust 7, 2014Portions are huge. Everything we ordered was amazing but my favorite was the salmon cerviche with cornflakes. What a novel idea!
- Leslie dFebruary 7, 2014Everything was incredible. Tried about 11 dishes, Kobe beef was on the top of the list. Only let down was the miso soup it was more like a vegetable stew.
- Donna EngMarch 22, 2012Lunch special bento is truly special. They only make 10 per day so get there early. Great way to sample many items if you can't decide what to have!
- pixarinaJune 25, 2017mackerel pressed sushi, salmon carpaccio, kobe beef on a hot stone, uni udon (ordered second), all stellar; sashimi was good not great.
- Gabriela P.July 3, 2016Very original and good food, but very inefficient service - hostess takes walk in and phone reservations, takes orders, cleans up and set up tables, etc., so waiting times are terrible.
- Eve ChenApril 18, 2014BEST bento lunch set in the city. Be sure to reserve early as they only make 10sets per day!
- Jason PickensSeptember 29, 2017Deep fried corn and the tuna tataki was delicious. Also the ebi mayo. Yum
- Naomi KSeptember 29, 2017Delicious food. Tuna tataki is yummy. Get the fried corn though, surprisingly tasty.
- Patricia TAugust 7, 2014This food is amazing! The menu is totally different for what I've tasted in a sushi restaurant! A must in Vancouver
- Bahram ShokouhianApril 16, 2014Great restaurant! Order sake by the glass and u will have the waiter shouting stuff in japanese!
- Kathy SunOctober 8, 2015really great vegetarian options and service! the avocado pressed sushi is on point
- Alicia AdderleyOctober 15, 2013If you aren't a fish lover, try the Chicken Kara-age Bowl... It is amazing!!
- Elizabeth FernandezOctober 23, 2016Don't miss the kobe beef on a hot stone. And the tan tan noodles. Everything delicious!
- Kelly MarionNovember 13, 2012Try the invincible and undefeated tan tan noodle (love the name), the kobe beef stone and the tuna tataki.
- Damian JJune 17, 2012Make sure you let the staff know if it is someone's birthday. Great food and a great selection of drinks too!
- ClearlyContacts.caDecember 23, 2011A Japanese tapas style restaurant with great share plates if you're looking for a place to eat with some friends or family.
- LorAugust 12, 2011Beef tongue on hot stone is a must! Tuna carpaccio is great too. For lunch the pork katsu is delicious too!
- Jessica ChauSeptember 25, 2011Best Japanese lunch in Vancouver. Try the Deluxe set, Tonkatsu set, or Kakuni Bowl. Unforgettable.
