- Rory ParnessJune 30, 2016If you like lamb but don't like spicy, request the cumin lamb. It's not on the menu but very tasty and very tender. The braised shitake with baby bok choy is a good veggie choice
- Yes, the dan dan noodles to start. But don't waste your time ordering them for takeout-they lose their spunk. Also, MUST try the snow pea shoots w/ garlic. Worth the price tag and THE BEST Chinese veg
- Russell HirschornJuly 5, 2016Highly recommend. Dan Dan Noodles and Sichuan Dumplings were awesome. Prawn in spicy cucumber excellent, cellophane noodles w. minced beef great, miso roasted chicken was crispy, not a lot of miso.
- Christian DickmannSeptember 27, 2013Great atmosphere, great food, good service. Can't ask for more. I had the General Tso chicken and it was excellent. Interior decoration was unusually nice which I appreciated.
- Bill GilroySeptember 24, 2017Everything is amazing. Top three dishes are Dan Dan noodles, wok Sichuan prawns and Peking duck. Best Chinese food I’ve had in 20 yrs in nyc
- Clara EloyDecember 15, 2023Loved the crispy sesame beef, even though it’s incredibly sweet, the rest was okay
- Yang JiangSeptember 17, 2011Certified amazing. My family and I are all Chinese and avid szechuan lovers. This place is one of the best we've ever eaten at. Do braised cellophane noodles with minced pork!!!!
- Ani ZFebruary 11, 2014Their prawns with spicy cucumber is amazing! I get it everytime I go here. Good service and only Asian place I'll go to in UES
- Xian XianJanuary 24, 2012Lovely elegant dark wood interior & great service! Try the pan seared dumplings and noodle dishes, the chili salt & pepper calamari, the fried fish. Spicy but yum!!
- This is the only Chinese restaurant in the UES I'll frequent. I would recommend sticking to their Sichuan specialities such as Ma Paul Tofu, dan dan noodles, Sichuan pork dumplings, etc.
- dawn.in.newyorkJanuary 16, 2015Dan Dan Noodle will bring you sensational appetite. Try some with Tsingtao beer.
- Ashley KingDecember 26, 2013Best of the UES but overall Sichuan is always higher quality. Best ambiance of ANY Chinese restaurant in NYC
- Jonathan CohenJanuary 19, 2013chicken lettuce wraps with pine nuts. great portion size ad huge flavor for a dish that is usually bland at an average chinese restaurant. also good: tangerine beef, veggie dumplings.
- Richi BaidwanJanuary 20, 2015If you're a fan of spicy, not super hot, but spicy food, try the chicken with spices miso roasted chilli! Delicious.
- Best appetizer: Sichuan Pork Dumplings. Medium spice, awesome taste! Avoid Crispy Fish Filets, greasy and too much breading - go for Braised Whole Fish instead. :-)
- David SpinksFebruary 26, 2012Avoid the pork with cumin and chili. It's 90% bones. Pork dumplings were phenomenal. Chicken with lemon was pretty solid too.
- Tash ConcepcionMarch 22, 2014Be careful if you order online. The dan dan noodles on Seamless says it's made with minced beef but in the restaurant, they say they only serve dan dan noodles with minced pork.
- Brett FrommeOctober 30, 2016Americanized Szechuan Chinese food (not spicy). Lots of better choices in Manhattan and Queens.
- Vani PrabakaranJanuary 12, 2011Its hard to find good chinese food without going to Chinatown, but this place is awesome. Try the szechuan pork dumplings, one of my favs!
- Maggie WalshSeptember 3, 2011The ma paul tofu is light and spicy, not heavy like other places. Make sure to get the dumplings too!
- Adam ChristensenJuly 14, 2010Former chef of UES Wu Liang Ye. Great food. Great: wok fried spicy prawns, tripe and ox tongue, wok fried chiles, wok roast frog, jelly fish...
- Christina ChinFebruary 1, 2020Decent chinese in ues side. Good service. Lil pricey for typical fare but ur in the ues, what do u expect.😆
- Morgan MattoneAugust 8, 2021Got the shrimp dumplings which were pretty good and beef fried rice which was bland and salty
- Paige CSeptember 2, 2017Nothing special. I thought it would be more authentic based on the reviews but it was pretty generic.
- David MarksonOctober 18, 2015Awful! Run away. Not tasty, over fried. Worst Chinese food in a long time...
