- Katie Hilyer HollisterSeptember 14, 2013Simply the best local cured meats anywhere. You can spend some dough in the restaurant, but just go up to the deli counter to take stuff home! I'd reccomend the pork shoulder bacon!
- Darkest Hour ApparelAugust 30, 2020If you’re looking for a nice cozy and fancy outing this is a great spot. Tasty cocktails and fabulous service too. The food is amazing and if you love steak they have a great steak too.
- Stacy Bo BacyMay 7, 2018Flat iron is the best steak I’ve ever had. Burger was delicious, but fries were too salty for me. Best to order meat cooked rare or medium rare.
- Travel + LeisureJune 5, 2014A former convenience store is now an airy brasserie and a popular butcher shop. Standout menu items include the pan-seared imperial Wagyu steak with caramelized radicchio.
- Nigel StephensonAugust 19, 2016Some of the best food I have eaten in Portland. Great attention to detail, they care what goes on the plate. Service outstanding. Highly recommended for dinner.
- The butcher is my go to place for Tasso and andouille on Jambalaya night. I am a fan of the #3 sandwich. Yum! Next time, I will be ordering the Cajun meatloaf sandwich. Heard rave reviews!
- Arthur MitchellSeptember 4, 2021Had a Reuben. The pastrami was on the greasy side and the sandwich was skimpy. The butcher's pates and sausages looked excellent. Have to come to try.
- Doniree WalkerDecember 1, 2012Delicious. Had the chicken with polenta, Brussels sprouts, and puréed cauliflower. Started with fleur de lis bread and devolved eggs - awesome. Best part? Side of Mac and cheese. WOW.
- Haley Hughes BryanAugust 31, 2012Awesome cocktails. Get a steak because they are wonderful although quite large. Definitely go for the dulce de leche cheesecake if it's on the menu because it's heavenly.
- GNTLMNFebruary 19, 2014If you're in the mood for meat, this is the place and it's really reasonably priced. My favorite steak and fries in PDX and it's only $20.
- JaredSeptember 3, 2014The meat cuts here are amazing. Steak, prime rib, and chops were so delicious. Highly recommend. The boar pâté was phenomenal.
- Sara GravensJune 30, 2016100% save room for dessert - the olive oil cake with strawberries and basil ice cream is out of this world. Hurry, it's a seasonal item, and won't be around long.
- StephanieJuly 5, 2023The meats served here are well sourced, delicious & prepared to perfection! The cornbread is an absolute must.
- Heather MaderMarch 25, 2017Took a chance and ordered the $14 burger...what a total mind blower it was. A Dry aged steak had clearly lost its life for my burger, lol, and I didn't feel left out for not having the porter house.
- Brenden BullockAugust 25, 2014Every single thing here is amazing. Get a bunch of small plates and split a steak for dinner!
- Neel HajareFebruary 8, 2021Excellent burger. If you order by phone you can pay and pick up without going indoors

- Ji-Taek ParkDecember 27, 2013Not cheap, but worth the steak&frits. Try the Dijon creme fresh for ur fries...
- Janet JohnsonDecember 6, 2009The very best burger and fries in Portland. If you can settle on it (the menu is meaty but amazing) you'll be delighted. I crave it often.

- Mike WalekeJune 1, 2016Lunch was good, but the charcuterie board was the highlight. The sandwiches aren't as good/interesting as lardo.
- Janet JohnsonJuly 26, 2011
- Let's see - no reservations for parties under six so plan to wait but it's oh so worth it!
