Junot Díaz: "El Malecón is an uptown institution and its chicken is a personal favorite. I once saw a scuffle break out in El Malecón because they ran out of chicken. It really is fight-worthy pollo." Read more

El Rey De Pollo (the king of chicken) lives up to its name. The rotisserie chicken is unreal but the real star is the maduros or fried plantains. Also a meal for 4-6 is like $25. Go here.

Absolutely delicious Domincan food. Portions are large & prices are cheap. I had mofongo de chicharones & tostones along with fresh orange juice... I was hungry! But still took 1/2 of it home

Great place to get Latin American food. Plates are huge so definitely order to share. I tried the yuca frita, churrasco and chicken mofongo and everything was really good. Totally worth your penny

So glad I live so close to this amazing restaurant! You get enormous amounts of food for so cheap. And it tastes amazing! Get the 1/2 chicken, yellow rice, pinto beans, and sweet plantains for $13!

The coffee-the best!! . The roasted chicken-awesome! The pastelitos-almost irresistible! All of it very good, very fast and efficient, and surprisingly cheap! What else you need?

Try the tres leches - This tres leches cake is so good, you'll swear there are seis leches in it. Really, leave room for dessert, or just skip dinner entirely and get this.

Most consistent Spanish restaurant in Manhattan for many, many years. Go with the lunch for a more affordable version of what's on the main menu. Served anytime.

Sopa de pollo - absolutely LUV IT if u hava cold. Their chicken is the best and they use batata, not potato, for a slightly sweeter nice texture.
