1) Don't even try the parking lot. It will be full. Park on the street. 2) Make an appointment and be in and out in 20 minutes. There's a separate appointment line. 3) The staff here is very nice :)

The people working here are always really helpful and real. Pro tip: the DMV website will show you what the current wait time is for both appointments and nonappointments.

Had an appt, and watched the twice as long walk-in line processed before mine. Then eventually served on the non appt line FML Best guess, come before they open or near close

You absolutely need to make an appointment. If you go as a walk in you better pack a lunch and be prepared to spend a couple hours or better.

Best DMV ever. This place is huge, it's organized, it's staffed by competent people, and there are people who survey the drop in line in order to expedite the process.

The line here is obnoxiously long. If you can't make an qppt. Go to the other oakland dmv. The lines are shorter and move quicker.

When DMV iOS application says 0:13 min wait, it does not count line to get inside the DMV! So it's 30 min wait outside and 13 once you got your queue #.

The staff at this DMV are surprisingly not terrible. They were mildly friendly compared to other DMVs I've been to.
