- Kate BlanchardMarch 21, 2015A great traditional Irish meal with a twist. We sat at the bar for dinner and had a great experience! Quaint and intimate interior. It is cash only, though. And I always forget!
- Gretchen MurphySeptember 2, 2018Not your average Irish pub! I may be biased since my husband shares his name with this restaurant, but it’s underrated. Great cocktails and pub fare in a cozy setting. Cash only!
- EaterJanuary 23, 2013When you think you want pub food, this is what you really want. Hearty stews, killer fish and chips, in-house ketchup and no white sugar on the premises. [Eater 38 Member]
- Serious EatsMarch 12, 2014An intimate but laid back Irish pub in Brookline Village that serves by far the best Irish fare in town.
- The newly renovated Matt Murphy's is very nice. Sit at the bar, play with the warm lamps, chat with Andy, order a Guinness, and enjoy the egg salad and salmon sandwich. I get it EVERY time.
- If you find yourself at MM's at 10pm, wait fir the late night menu. Get a Black Hill Maple while you wait for the menus to appear then order a boxty or three and the lamb butties. You'll be be set.

- Bobby Tre'January 1, 2014Cash only-no credit cards accepted...strange for a restaurant where an entrée averages $20+ and a cocktail is $10+. Weird ambiance and not worth the money :( could have been better...
- Benjamin WagarNovember 12, 2012There see American Irish Pubs, Irish Pubs, and then Matt Murphy's. I feel like I'm eating back in the mother country
- Rich DAugust 24, 2010Best fish and chips, served in newspaper with a beet-infused onion and homemade ketchup for the fries.

- I've long been a regular of MM (& a long-time major) and am sad to report that w/ no Andy, no late night menu, & a pretty boy salesman waiter pushing cocktails -- things are going downhill fast. WTF?
