- Daniel PlemmonsAugust 7, 2014Without a doubt my favorite bar in SF. Mostly regulars there any night, the tiny venue makes everyone friendly. James and Cassandra keep things constantly fun, upbeat, and well alchohol-ed.
- Ryan LeggettNovember 19, 2013If you come on a Thursday night, and you stay late enough for the recycling guys to show up, you might get lucky enough to help pass the used bottles out of the bar. It's a lot more fun that it sounds
- A properly San Francisco bar with a mix of neighbors, tourists and industry folk. Even though it might look dingy, the bathtub your beer is served out of is very clean and the food is home made.
- Joan CardonaApril 5, 2018Special place. They don’t have a fridge, they keep the beers in a bathtub with ice. There’s also just 6 seats. Said that, the place has character and the bartender is really nice. Worth to try
- Guillaume FlandreNovember 4, 2014The smallest bar west of Mississippi. Waiters are very friendly and great German beer is served (and kept cold in the bathtub behind the bar, don't ask.)
- Gregory MillerJanuary 5, 2016Awesome cozy bar, great place to meet new people. The bartender James is fantastic and extremely friendly.
- Haley DasarpAugust 26, 2017James the bartender keeps things upbeat. He even shot gunned a few beers with us. Definitely one of my most unique SF bar experiences.
- Men's Health MagNovember 15, 2011Every man should visit this bar, which requires men to give their seats to the ladies. And guess what, guys? There are more girls here because of it. Grab a chimay, she’ll like it too.
- Good beer and really relaxing atmosphere, seems like you are at home drinking beers with friends:)
- Tim BradshawNovember 23, 2014The bar staff are very friendly and gave us homemade cookies but the cockroach walking across the bar was a bit offputting.
- The tiny bar will seat barely ten, and the beer is kept cold in a ceramic bathtub, but the selection is first class, as is the company!
- Joseph UrbanMarch 29, 2015The people. You cannot go to the Blackhorse and not meet someone and have a memorable time.
- H HJanuary 3, 2015Instantly feel like a local. It's the cutest hole in the wall I ever did see. Happy hour is a $1.00 off.
- James, the owner and pride of ohio, is one of the best people you will ever meet.
- This truly is the greatest bar in the world. I can't emphasize this enough
- Bathtub full of beer, who wouldn’t like it. Only downside…it’s small and I think I picked up Omicron there.
- Mister ArcherFebruary 25, 2010Gents, be chivalrous and share that seat with a damsel. You are at the smallest pub in SF so be friendly!
- Curtis JMarch 3, 2010Every time I come here something good happens. The cute bartender bakes for everybody on Tuesdays.
- MarkSeptember 11, 2010You know what is awesome about this place? If you said everything you are right.
- Where Greg's dreams of pseudo-brotherhood stardom are discussed.
- No cell phones allowed. Boys must give up their stools to girls. Cash only. Best bar ever.
- make new friends in this teeny-tiny bar. long live the horse!
- Anthony TownsendFebruary 6, 2009squeeze yourself into one of the seven seats in this world's smallest bar (i think)
