- Joe CMay 13, 2015I freaking love coming here when I'm in town. The chowder is some of the best I've ever had, and the fish & chips are great. I know everyone says to get a Guinness, but go Harpoon hereUpvoted Mar 29
- The Next Great Generation (Boston)January 20, 2012The best night to go is Tuesday for their long-standing open mic night, which showcases a lot of local talent in a variety of music genres. The Burren also occasionally has live bands on weekends. Read more
- Classic feel of an Irish pub with several UK beers on tap (Guinness, Belhaven, Harp, O'Hara's, Smithwick's). Live events in both front and back rooms. Also, very vegetarian-friendly menu!
- The Somerville Road Runners host a 3-mile run starting from here every Monday evening at 6:45. Good route and free food (beef stew & veggie pasta) afterward!
- Peter SalemJuly 15, 2018Surprisingly variant menu, even for vegan. Vegan burger with fries, spinach and hummus plate, and a beer. Very fun, but very loud place
- Jeremy KrantzSeptember 27, 2014One of the best places to get a pint of Guinness in the Boston area. Also has live music 7 nights a week. Great pub.
- Chadwick KDecember 19, 2013Classy Irish pub but when I say classy, imagine yourself next to rough hewn benches, no-name musicians, draught beer they pour the head off unto slats, and delectable food.
- GuyDecember 5, 2011Try and get a seat in the front if you want to avoid a busy atmosphere. Also, be sure to order an Otter Creek Black IPA, amazing blend between a Guinness and nice IPA.
- Boston.comMarch 15, 2012Irish music playing in the front room as well as live music in the back room. There will also be corned beef and cabbage and other Irish favorites served all day. Read more
- Really great place for vegetarian and vegan options. Always packed on the weekends and has great live music!
- Love this Place!!!Great food, great music, and a wonderful staff that always makes you feel welcomed.
- I don't know how or why, but they probably have the best tasting Smithwicks in all of Boston. Bartenders are also super charming and great to chat up!
- Dan FogartyMarch 11, 2015Doesn't look like a place you can trust the salmon. But the salmon was really good! Four smiley emojis out of 5 😊😊😊😊
- Michael "Bass Man" M.February 19, 2016Food was good, stick to your ribs comfort food, generous portions, but a little pricey (not outrageous, but on the high end). Live music was great but made conversation difficult.
- Steph KatrinaFebruary 21, 2016Great Thursday night spot. Live music. Great bartenders. Outdoor seating for dinner
- OurStageJuly 8, 2011Sign up at 6:30 p.m. to show off your new tunes at the low-key Tuesday night open mic. You won’t even have to worry about messing up that super tough guitar part! More venues @ http://ourstage.us/3o
- BostonTweetJuly 29, 2010Burren has live Irish music 7 nights/week & fantabulous Guinness. While you're there chat with Java behind the bar - don't worry, you'll eventually be able to decipher his thick Irish accent.
- Dimitris SpiliakosMarch 6, 2015Friendly service, tasty pints and live music make this neighborhoodsy pub a cozy escape.
- Jenni RussellFebruary 25, 2013There's a Mediterranean sampler on the menu. It may not be traditional Irish fare, but it is delicious.
- If you can... Get here on Sunday nights for Tom Bianchi and co, and Tuesday nights for open mic night hosted by the incredibly talented Hugh McGowan!!! Both in the back room =)
- Chris PattiApril 23, 2010The pick up Celtic folk bands that play here on weekend afternoons and at random other times are awesome if you can catch one! As others have said the curry fries rock too :)
- Mike NickersonMay 21, 2012The fish n chips and tartar sauce with a harpoon ipa outside on a warm summer night...can't get any better than that
- Best 80s cover band ever. Thursday nights, no cover, starts around 10:30p. So good!
- Paul LyonsJanuary 30, 2011Great Trad Session in Front Room. Get there early. Back Room jammed for Rock Cover Band on Saturday Night. The Place was Rockin'. 26+6=1.
- Carla D'AvanzoApril 22, 2013One of my favourite place in somerville with good live music and nice crowd ;)
- Free (and hysterical) stand up comedy show on wednesdays in the back room.
- Get this: the back room is full of tables and you can easily get a seat if you show up at happy hour, instead of peak hour.
- Start your weekend right with Thursday Burrsday. Or, go for beers or brunch any other time.
- The FeastJune 7, 2011Tuesday night is open mic and there's live music most evenings, but we suggest you go Wednesday at 10 for the Back Room comedy night.
- Alex DobyanJanuary 2, 2016Do yourself a favor and skip Thursday nights when it's mobbed for Scattershot - not worth it to see a middling 80s cover band.
- Kat PowersMarch 31, 2010The beer's nice and all, but do yourself a favor and order a basket of fries with curry on the side.
- Stand-up comedy show on most Wednesdays at 10pm.Upvoted Feb 24
- Nelson JoyceSeptember 22, 2012Get a Guinness and listen to the shitty bands in back. Can't go wrong.
- PatriciaMay 13, 2015Come for the cover band on Saturday nights to relive all of the worst parts of college.
- Rob RichMay 5, 2012When you ask for a pint at an Irish Pub they should know to bring you a Guinness.
- Zopaipilla MarielleJanuary 22, 2014Good for beer maybe but the good way terrible. Mahi Mahi was completely flavorless and the pulled pork was dry and was mostly bread. Wouldn't go again.
