Decided to come here on a whim and had an amazing meal. Enjoyed the English peas, lamb belly, bone marrow, hanger steak, trumpet mushrooms and the affogato for dessert. Will be coming back again soon!
Everything was terrific. Highlights: beets, gnocchi, bone marrow and strawberry crostado was ridiculously good. Cute bill in a "the damage" envelope, too.
Has some decent appetizer veggie options but lacks entrees for vegetarians. They were out of the only two they offer tonight

Loved their green papaya salad (the spiced walnuts give it a kick!) and clay oven bread with chickpea curry! Can't wait to go back again and enjoy their patio

Excellent menu, impeccable service, views of the ocean and pier, cocktails before or after in the sumptuous hotel lobby make you feel like visiting royalty. On my list of favourites.
I've never been to a restaurant where the server seemed scared to come to the table. Then I had lunch here.
Filet was tasty as were sides. “Special” salad was pretty bland. $5 for bread!

Definitely get the guac and chips. Aside from the great guac, it’s served with a house made smokey salsa that’s delicious.

The Vegetarian Flaco Tacos are so amazingly good! All tacos can be ordered a la carte to mix and match. Tapas style.
Great collection of wines. The lobster cocktail has a much better value for money than the whole lobster. Amazing food, prime location and great location for sunset, but a little experience.
The clam chowder is legit. There are actual clams. ACTUAL CLAMS IN THEIR LITTLE CLAM SHELL!!! FREAKED ME OUT BUT TASTED LIKE A FRESH OCEAN!

General manager/sommelier is a very knowledgable, very nice guy who can make excellent wine recommendations whatever your taste or price range from one of the best wine lists in town.
Michael's has been in Santa Monica since 1979. I actually celebrated my 16th B. Day there. It has always remained a classic in contemporary cuisine. Now offering a happy hour with great bar bites..
I never eat here I just stop in to make holiday reservations.
