Live Uni, blue shrimp and amaebi nigiris are amazing!! Love aji tataki and scallop mini burgers. Chefs special oysters are great too.
All of the ramen options are fantastic. Asahi draft is cold and perfectly poured. Staff is super friendly and the line is now much shorter than Mensho.
I never regret getting the house ramen each time I come here. I do regret getting the delicious Sapporo when my stomach is already full from the broth. And about the broth; not too creamy! 👌
Vegan ramen with soy milk broth was a different take on ramen, and I actually really enjoyed it!
Get the round table in front of the front window is the best. Very good sake and Japanese beer. The service is excellent.

Hands down my favorite Japanese restaurant in SF. Highly recommend the Sapporo Ramen and Uni Nigiri.
Everything is great. The spicy tuna tartare and mushroom risotto with uni are standouts.

Sit at the bar and do the sushi/sashimi Omakase. I think it now serves the best sushi in town. Also, the oyster stout is nice!
Pristine omakase is the name of the game at this tiny sushi spot, which boasts the talents of longtime local great Masaki Sasaki. Expect a Japanese-style sushi experience at Japanese-style prices.
Sushi is pretty good and affordable. Service was good too. Dinner bentos came with miso, salad, and rice. I'd come here again.
The nigiri combo is great but a lot for one person. All of the fish is very high quality, it melts in your mouth the way you want sushi to. Overall great place!

The chili cilantro edamame is amazing! Spicy though, so be careful if you can't take the heat.
seriously some of the best sushi in sf. so underrated. get the 3 amigos, himachi lime, mango lobster, garlic chili edamame... also non sushi soft shell crab salad, ganja awesome.
Surprising standouts: green tea, best California roll I've had, brussel sprouts, edamame. Fish and steak are great too but not as surprising.

The "decadent" omakase was a huge disappointment. While the appetizers were good and portions were generous, the sashimi and wagyu were awful and the service was haphazard.
Hidden gem! Great quality of fish, interesting sushi rolls and unique appetizers/ small plates.
